Romo, Jerruh, and the Boys: all talk for the last two decades.
He's buying tickets to the super bowl? that's cool.
F the cowboys. America's team my ass.
If the played in SB 50 BB would put that on a big screen in the players lounge on a endless loop
He barely acknowledged Romo's existence, like a response you'd get to some random fan screaming "TB you're the greatest".
On another note it"s a strange comment, if Romo were in charge of the Cowboys destiny at this point it makes sense but he's not, train wreck Weeden is(or now Cassel? Who's watching that mess from the sidelines and saying "Yeah, we're Super Bowl bound baby"? lol. I think he was either being sarcastic or it was a compliment that TB would make it to the big game and Romo will be watching.
Saw this today...
Top Ten 3-game performances of all time: http://bit.ly/1QtGSmI
#1 Brady 1,327 yds and 11 TB
Romo didn't make the list..
I haven't read this entire thread, but my first reaction immediately after the game was that TB12 was blowing Romo off, maybe because of Romo's comments during the summer of Deflategate?
TB Came across like
"Ummm, yeah whatever thanks"
"Who are you again?'
"Okay whatever buddy"
"That;s nice now get out of my way"
I think Romo is one of the more polarizing figures in the league. He's won a lot of close games, but he's lost a lot of close games too. Part of that is because his team ends up playing in a lot of close games. Over 50% of Romo's games have been decided by 0-7 points, compared to just under 40% for Brady and Rodgers.
And the December swoon always gets blamed on Romo. The Cowboys are 26-12 with him in September, 18-19 in December. But there's really not a huge change in his stats.
September: 66.1%, 8.09 YPA, 53 TD, 24 INT, 98.3 RAT
December: 63.7%, 7.53 YPA, 60 TD, 28 INT, 94.1 RAT
That 4 point drop in RAT might seem meaningful, but when you add in the 3 January games where Romo has thrown for 106.5 RAT, it pretty much balances out. Brady's RAT also drops from 96 to 92.5, and nobody thinks he chokes in December with a ridiculous 48-8 record. But I think that comes down to coaching and one team getting better and one team not. Depth probably plays an issue as well. But it can't just be the QB play.
And Romo actually plays really well in losses, certainly well enough to give his team a chance to win. Over 62 losses, he's thrown 61.8%, 83 TDs to 63 INTs and an 84.5 RAT. Not spectacular, but consider the Bengals won 10 games last season with Dalton doing worse than that.
Romo has only played 1 game without Bryant since the Cowboys drafted Dez. That was week 2 in 2011 @ San Francisco. Romo went 20 for 33, 345 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INTs, 116.4 RAT in a 27-20 win on the road at eventual 13-3 NFC West Champs.
Dez is a great player and obviously makes the team better. And Romo is definitely not in that top tier of QBs like Brady and Manning. But just because you're not the GOAT candidate doesn't mean you're a scrub either. Romo is a top 10 QB in this league, and when healthy, may even crack that top 5.
If we don't make it to the SB and Denver ends up in that game, it would be hilarious if Romo beats Peyton in the big game. As much as the media loves Peyton and conversely love to criticize Romo, it would be make it tolerable to see the Cowboys win just to watch the media try to make sense out of it.
That's some really good information there.
That game vs San Francisco you mentioned, he broke 2 ribs and punctured his lung in the 2nd qtr, and still lead a comeback victory against a team that ended up going 13-3.
He had an absolutely ridiculous December last season. It was actually the best December for a QB EVER statistically. Definitely Top 5 the past couple years, right up there with the elite. Behind Brady and Rodgers, there is no other QB in the NFL I'd want over Tony right now. He has become a really good QB.
Dallas - Romo = Cleveland
Neither did Favre or Elway.
But freaking Matt Stafford did, so he's awesome or something.
I live amongst Broncos fans. They were Indy fans, but they all magically turned into Denver fans when Manning left.
They all talk trash all the time. "LOOK AT PEYTON'S 6 TDS and 7 INTS THIS SEASON!!!! OH YEAH!!!!"
What's your LTs name?
"Uh uh uh uh Eric Decker"
You don't know how bad I would love to see Dallas crush them. 75 - 0 would be satisfactory.
Part of Romo's problem has been playing under coach-in-training Jason Garrett, instead of an elite coach. Dallas GM (at least until Stephen Jones started doing it) is getting flashy star players over solid skill players.....the reverse of BB. Graph is not handy, but until 1996, Dallas had the most playoff appearances and wins of any team....since then, it's Pats hands down, with Dallas near the bottom
He might be in a suite watching the game
Does anyone in the media actually think these ridiculous story lines through? We're honestly supposed to believe that Tony Romo, injured, and on the verge of missing another 4-5 games where his team has gotten off to an 0-3 start without him, is going to approach Tom Brady after a beatdown and predict that they'll meet up again in the SUPER BOWL?
Is everyone out there a complete moron?
They play together in a golf tournament, which happens to fall in the month of February.....They've played together in the past, and there's a pretty decent chance (cause, you know--they both enjoy golf and charity events) that they've already discussed it for next year.
And yes--I figured that brain buster out all on my own. It was literally the very first thing that I thought of when hearing about it earlier today (the possibility of some type of charity/celebrity event).
What other possible explanation could there be? We're going to believe that Tony Romo is so insanely bold that he's predicting the less than 1% chance that these two teams meet up in the SB? And people seriously believe this media made up ********? Our society is screwed.
I'm so sick of seeing innocuous comments turned around into some type of controversy, just so the mediots can gain clicks. Romo would not only have to be the most arrogant player in the NFL, but he'd also have to be stupid and delusional. Even if the Cowboys were 4-0 coming into this meeting, no one is going to be talking about the Super Bowl in week five.
If the Patriots make the Super Bowl I will look at the match up then, until then the only thing that matters is winning the AFC.
