The real question is what happens at the end of the month... How do we loosen up restrictions... How many people do we want mobile? They better speed up the science in testing which I realize they have.

Based on the deaths we are seeing we may not end up with 70-100k deaths we have seen the deaths estimates have gone from 2M to 200k to current 85k. Truth is the models have been widely inaccurate. This MAY b end up being a 'normal' flu season. Remember these death statistics INCLUDE the deaths from seasonal flu and corona.

You only reduce restrictions if you're willing to value $$$ over lives.

That point may come, but I doubt it'll be May 1st.

COVID will be around until a vaccine is developed. No one will be 100% safe for a while

The question isn't which one is worse. It's whether public intervention does more harm than good in the long run. It's not like we're losing productive members of society on a large scale with this virus. It's old people and those with serious pre-exisiting conditions, most of whom would have died soon anyways. These aren't tragic or insurmountable losses. Shutting down the global economy for this long, and possibly even longer, for this is sheer insanity.

I agree on most levels but we can’t view this the same due to all the precautionary measures we’ve taken

There will always be the question “how many would have died if we didn’t”. I also have a strong feeling the death rate will be a lot higher for COVID19 than the 17-18 flu

But tough to know because we’ll likely never know how many were infected

All I’ll say is that at some point $$ does equal life in the long run

People die & kill themselves in long recessions & depressions. So it not cold to consider getting back to work

But I won’t minimize death. There are healthy people dying too. It’s not all old & unhealthy

If I were going to thank God for keeping me safe, I'd ask why he put everyone in such danger in the first place.

Once you read past the headline, it is discovered that the likely reason is that those people weren't fully recovered. What happened was they had it, felt better, got tested, the test returned a false negative, they got tested again and the 2nd test returned a true positive.

Why did we ever do away with Eugenics? If you cant pull yourself up from your bootstraps, die. If you arent genetically fit to withstand some china virus, die. This scholarly gentleman with wordly taste was allowed to be persecuted by the MSM and was MURDERED by the deepstate.

Honest question: Why is Coronavirus a partisan issue? I see conservatives trying to irrationally minimize it and liberals trying to irrationally exaggerate it.

And please don't answer "because one side uses facts and the other uses 'feels'" or "one side is selfish and the other has compassion" - would prefer an objective perspective.

I wonder if it speaks to political affiliation being more about personality-type or how one's financial incentives are set up?

We, as a society, already do that. The politically incorrect fact of the matter is that economists do assign a value to human life, including things like the human cost of maintaining a functioning society in our modern age.
