I thought you were into computers, now you're giving medical advice? Don't.

You never answered my question about conspiracy theories related to vaccines. What have you found on the web about this since once they develop one for this virus I'm sure those conspiracy theories will become relevant.

I've never taken a flu shot in my life (as an adult anyway), not because I necessarily oppose them, but I hate needles.

A couple of weeks ago I called in to get tested. During one of the return calls from UMass they mentioned that the Advil story had been debunked.

I don't get why the south isn't taking this seriously. Even if you are following the President or their local Govs and their tone...you should still have it in you to think with your own brain.

You do understand posts are read by everyone, right? And that “suggestions” may feel like free advice even if not directed right at you to some already anxious people? Or that maybe, just maybe, since it’s a prevalent problem, your “verbal barb” might (quite unnecessarily) bring back some unsuspecting reader’s saddest memory?
Words are like stones thrown into a pond - they have a ripple effect. You’re quick - and very good with words - thus you have more responsibility than most for the way you use them.

I never realized he was American until recently. I guess he can't be all bad :)... best wishes. This crisis has been very sobering for everyone.

Just saw that - thanked you for it.
But honestly - I’d still stay away from it personally. Better safe than sorry.

Wishing the best for him and for a recovery. Of course you’ll have swarms of idiots either cheering on his death or feeling the need to say “I didn’t like him but RIP”.

They could add a lot more on the end of that since it was made :)

Vernon Gholston without even trying.... they fell in love with his measurables and he played like dog ****.

Again, while there has been good news the past few days that some areas are flattening the curve we need to be cautiously optimistic and not act like the worst is over when that is far from clear.

Other areas of the country and of the world are at risk of becoming hot spots. Just because the situation in the northeast appears to be improving doesn’t mean the same for everywhere else, especially places were social distancing has been ignored.

Like everyone else I am rooting for this **** to go away, I just worry that premature “it’s over!” sentiment can be dangerous and impact behavior of individuals.

I "liked" the previous post because I think that the I-have-a-fever-let-me-take-something-to-bring-it-down assumption is wrong. Fevers are a manifestation of your body fighting disease. On the other hand, you're obviously right that, above a certain level, it needs dealing with (and you should be consulting a physician).

There's many sources available to read that state that fevers of 103 and 104 for short periods are not terrible, but should not exceed 72 hours.

I apologize, I needed to step away from my office yesterday afternoon and work on some projects, by the time I got back, Ian had closed the thread for the night.

I haven't done much reading on the vaccines beyond everyone and their mother claiming they have figured one out for COVID, and Bill Gates wanting to chip us lol.

Vaccines in general isn't something that has piqued my interest. Other than the classic Anti-Vaxxer rhetoric of "ThEY CaUSe AuTisM!!1!" a la Jenny McCarthy, I've just thought of it the same as chemtrails, probably nonsense.

Personally I do not believe that they cause autism. I've only taken the flu vaccine 1 time like 12 years ago, and it made me feel like **** for a month, so I haven't bothered since. When I was a kid I got the standard TB, Polio, and smallpox even though I wasn't supposed to but my pediatrician did it anyway.

He's the best Prime Minister we've got. And he's a human being. For both reasons, I wish him a full and speedy recovery.
