You know what's comical about (I think, at least mainly) artificial food panics?

We got ourselves some peace of mind laying in a few boxes of rice (not going to deal w/the logistics of the 20 lb. bag if its not the apocalypse) and a few boxes of pasta. Plus, you know, the usual stuff. Calories galore as long as you have a heat source and water that's potable after boiling, right?

Nobody's buying that. They're buying modified alpo. "Hash." Feh. There's one kind of hash I want in an apocalypse and it ain't corn beef.

That's not too bad, but the $364 is higher than in store prices. It varies by product. I mean, still think it's worth it under certain circumstances. I've used it.

In South Korea it rose rapidly peaked then declined quickly. Sorry I am trained and spent a lifetime as an engineer it is the way I view problems look at data, compare to previous similar situations and make judgements.
YMMV, no need to get triggered.

Didn't all of SK shutdown? And test much more and much faster than we are?

I mowed my lawn today ... which was not really a mow more a suck crap up.
First time in years I mowed the lawn and didn't have to worry a customer would
call me for service .. because cannot hear phone when mowing.

The other thing is for years I had a rigid schedule which was visit customers on
Mondays and Wednesdays and do other work for business Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
and sometimes Saturday ... home office otherwise day or night on those days.

But the point is I forget what day it is and it feels real weird ... never felt this in my
entire life ... I mean since grade school have always had a schedule and started working
at age 8 (paper route) to 14 (worked at a pizza place) and of course high school then there was college at night for years and years. An AS, a BS and an MBA ... so always, always had a schedule.

I feel useless and like a fish out of water.o_Oo_Oo_O

Yep she created an Instacart account and the cc is on file. I assume Instacart pays Stop & Stop, Wegmans, etc.

She just orders the food online and adds the tip on the prepay during the online order.

She could just give the tip after they've dropped off the groceries but trying to avoid contact.

The delivery folks wear gloves but whatever. Only so much limiting of exposure you can do.

    Seems like a well-run operation.

My wife says she hasn’t seen any stories on the number of people who tested positive but have recovered.

Put your feet up. Light the fireplace. Grab a beer (or six), and read a book.

Your blood pressure will thank you.

That was when I realized I had succeeded in switching to self employment. No more rat race.

Still work a crap ton, but not having to follow that normal schedule is freakin awesome.

No. I'm sure it's out there though.

I just remember seeing SK completely shutdown and their drive through testing sites.

    As we were doing nothing.

Told our cleaning girl that her services won’t be needed for the next three months. She comes bi-weekly and deep cleans. She’s somewhat OCD so you best believe she does a hell of a job. Very salt of the earth hippies, her and her wife are. They save what little money they make and go to burns and ****. With that said, I’m still paying her her salary. They didn’t ask for it, but I know they budget it and they don’t make much. She cleans houses and her wife is a speech pathologist with a divorce that she’s paying off (since her loser husband was broke).

Not saying this to brag, just trying to use it as an example. If any of you have people in your employ, and you can afford it, please pay them. It’s the decent thing to do. Even if they don’t ask for it.

South Korea also has some very valuable experience on the ol’ pandemic front that put them ahead of the game compared to the United States. Please stop comparing the two countries. It’s a trash comparison on multiple fronts. And that’s all I’ll go into it without getting political.

Here is Harvard's site with lots of information, most of which we know or have covered; but it is a good source of info.

Coronavirus Resource Center - Harvard Health

I subscribe to their stuff and got this in an email. There were no restrictions noted, and I'm sure they are fine with sharing during a crisis.

Sounds nice but I am dealing with extreme anxiety as a result of my acdf spine operation
in November ... so far all medicines designed to reduce anxiety have increased it. I need a neurosurgeon and a myelogram but no doctors are seeing patients ... :(:(:(

All my customers closed ... many people hurting ... this is surreal.
