You have to out the circumstances that are causing this pandemic to be worse than it needed to be.

you can’t swing a cat by the tail without hitting someone who is f*cking people or someone who is getting f*cked

I hear what you're saying, all I'm saying is this isn't the thread for that.

I’ve mentioned it before but my best friend, a nurse, has it (confirmed yesterday) and from what he is saying it sounds pretty horrible, even for a mild case. He is young and likely won’t need hospitalization or anything but still. Would be terrified to pass that along to my folks.

I couldn’t feed my animals yesterday but I was able to today. I was awake at 4 am listening to my lungs that sound like they’re made of banned plastic bags. My son was much sicker. He said his lungs were finally loosening last night and was in good spirits. We both expect to make a full recovery. I’m hoping that the upturn has started. This is day eight for me and day 10 for my son.

That being said, Boston has not experienced a surge (yet). Let's hope it stays that way.

I’m in very good spirits today and have been all week. Community has rallied around us leaving Tylenol and mucinex on our porch. Those things are all sold out in Washington state. I’m encouraged by everyone except the toilet paper hoarders and Jets/Yankees fans.

I can commit to keeping you updated.

Here in Puerto Rico they have just extended the stay-at-home policy for two more weeks. We also have a curfew which was 9pm-5am. It’s now 7pm-5am. Also new, we have designated days when we can leave the house based on your license plate number. Numbers ending with an even number Mon, Wed, Fri. Odd Tues, Thurs, Sat. Supermarkets now shut down on Sundays.

I was a prolific smoker. I smoked well over a pack a day. I also smoked weed, crack and meth. Horrible lungs. That was decades ago. It’s been 20 years last month since I quit smoking cigarettes. They were somehow harder to give up.

My son has been a non-smoker for over a year. I think that’s why it hit him harder.

We already discussed it so hopefully we're good. Definitely would like to keep the thread moving in its current state, with people again also more than welcome to post news, information, etc.

Have to believe that New York's was related to public transportation (subway) more than anything. Overcrowding + being on the subway in everyone's grill = spike. That curve should theoretically flatten so long as everyone remains inside for another month or two. That said, people have had trouble with that even though the US is now numero uno in the amount of cases, worldwide, so who knows?

It's good that he at least quit and that there's a good span since he did. Hopefully that will help him get through this. And kudos for you for being also able to not only get through everything you have, but also to quit smoking, that's incredible.

I'm a non-smoker but know people who have tried and know how difficult it is. It's not easy so hopefully, your decision to be able to also quit that will also pay dividends now as well when you need it the most. :(

Ian, I hope I'm wrong, but I'm afraid this thread is going to deteriorate into more mudslinging. This is the third coronavirus thread, and the others didn't end too well. All it takes is one person. So you and the other mods are going to be busy :)

It's only me in this one - so I'm hoping people adhere to my requests. Hopefully, it won't be an issue but we'll see how it goes. We're off to a good start, so I'm optimistic ;)
