Really want McGregor to win just to shut up Mayweather and the boxing elitists. He certainly has a puncher's chance in this one.

What unfortunately I think we'll get is the typical Mayweather pillowhands fight. land 1 or 2 punches, then run away for 10 rounds and win by decision

Can't even root for either of them because they're both absolutely insufferable assholes.

As someone who has never followed boxing, I find the narratives surrounding the fight far more intriguing than the match itself. Who knows what will happen, but it sounds like Mayweather knows what he's doing in terms of marketing and money-making. Pretty impressive empire he's built up.

I think you might be in for a surprise. I like McGregor for the upset. Floyd is 40 and came out of retirement. Conor is young and relentless.

When Anderson Silva was in his winning streak in the UFC years ago he wanted to fight Boxe with Roy Jones Jr but well, never happened. That would be a far more interesting fight IMO.

I hope Money knocks the F out of McGregor, can't stand him.

Ohhhhhh it's all BS, guess we can dismiss it. Especially since he saved face so well by explaining the joke was okay because he's "black from the waist down."

He doesn't beat women like Floyd, but I'm not gonna root for him.

Can you elaborate? I'm hoping it is all BS but, it didn't sound like it based on what I read.

No you're wrong. Mac Gregor does not have anywhere near enough round of experience in the sport of boxing to possibly compete against a boxer as seasoned as Floyd. Mac Gregor will swing and miss and look foolish all night, his face will be all bruised up as well.

A lot better boxers and punchers have had punchers chances against Floyd, and they weren't able to capitalize. Trust me, Mac Gregor won't. He doesn't have anywhere near enough rounds of experience. Mac Gregor would lose badly to any top 10 ranked boxer in the world in the sport of boxing, just way too much experience. Mac Gregor has been getting beaten up in sparring by average professional fighters, read up.

Boxing Elitists? What's that mean? Perhaps you should do more research, you might appreciate the sweet science aspect to the sport more. Look up fighters like niccolino loche, Willie Pep, Pernell Whitaker, Wilfredo Benitez...elite defensive fighters who mastered the art of hitting and not getting hit back. That's what real boxing is. Strategy.

If you're looking for a bar room brawl, put Rocky 1 into your DVD.

Unless it's scripted (which it probably is), the historically good professional boxer will beat the guy who is not a boxer in boxing. Just like a historically good swimmer like Michael Phelps would beat Tom Brady in swimming, and a historically good basketball player like LeBron James would beat Mike Trout in basketball.

Mike Tyson, who is a student of boxing, says that MacGregor doesn't have a chance, so I'm going to side with Iron Mike on that one. Of course that is what we all thought when Apollo Creed (RIP) took that exhibition match with Ivan Drago, and look how that turned out!

For better or worse, both men are showman, and they have come up with a plan to make themselves a ton of money. Remember the immortal words of Captain Lonestar, "we're not doing it for the money, we're doing it for a **** ton of money!"
