One week after Patriots were kinda clueless against supposed tough Titans defense.. the Indy colts managed to score a virtual 40 burger. 38-10. What??

Explain... Or just comments since its a shocker..

They already won their Super Bowl, a weeks worth of back pats instead of focused prep? An exaggeration certainly.

    It is what it is.

I am so sick of patriots fans using excuses like “it was their super bowl” when we allow bad QBs to look like a prime Dan Marino. Then the following week those same QBs look like they belong in the XFL

Ever wonder why they look so comfortable against our zero pass rush defense?

Every game is a new game and a new opportunity.
Every opponent is a dangerous opponent in the NFL.
Particularly one that has intimate knowledge of your methods and processes.

The Colts and the Titans are not examples of consistent programs.

The one thing the Colts can do better then the Pats is attack all levels of the field. We don’t have anyone who can stretch the D like TY Hilton. I was watching parts of that game and he was killing the Titans.

The one thing that we miss from Cooks was his ability to take the top off of the D and keep the safety back.

I suspect this may have had something to do with the D’s performance....

Tennessee Titans defensive coordinator Dean Pees left the sideline for the hospital during the first half of Sunday's 38-10 loss to the Indianapolis Colts after suffering a medical issue.

"Titans Defensive Coordinator Dean Pees was experiencing a medical issue during the game," the team said in a statement. "He was tended to by medical personnel and was transported to a local hospital for further observation.”

Titans DC Dean Pees leaves game with medical issue

Best wishes for him going forwards.

Whats your point ? That NFL games are mostly about execution and exploiting matchups ? Especially division games. Yeah, that is how it goes.

Or that the biggest difference between the two games was that the Colts didn't allow a single sack or QB hit while Brady was pressured on close to 40% of his dropbacks last week playing behind a makeshift line that had Waddle play both as LT and RT in addition to Karras at guard ?

The Colts have quietly been one of the "better" teams this year in the AFC carried by a completely transformed OL. Good chance they end up with the final wildcard.

Colts are hot. Luck has been playing well, and so has their OL. Hilton is pretty darned good. They’ve got a legitimate shot at a WC if they can continue this level of play.

Mariota went down, Pees left the game due to illness.. Vrabel as good as he seems to be did not make the adjustments.. Titans could not generate much offense with Gabbert + 2 turnovers for the Titans and 263 yards of total Offense, tough to win in the NFL with that formula..

Yes. He was hung over from his first sober day after a week long binge while celebrating “their Super Bowl” over the otherwise omnipotent Patriots.

    Here is the knowledge:
Challenge the Patriots secondary early and often. They will consistently lose the 50/50 balls.
Pressure Brady from the edge, he will beat you.
Pressure him up the middle, he’ll fall in a heap before the defender even touches him.

Sure, I oversimplified. But I still come up with any reason why the Pats lost the way they did last week except they “overlooked” Tenessee like many of us did.

Sometimes we overthink ourselves and make average qbs into pro bowlers.

Dorsett is supposed to have a ton of speed. It just doesn’t translate to the actual games.

That’s basically always the case when we play a mobile QB. For whatever reason, they’re more content to give up 10-15 yard completions while the opposing WRs just take a casual stroll through the holes in the zone and the QB sits comfortably in the pocket than they are giving up the occasional 8-10 yard scramble.

It's almost like football games are a collection of loosely correlated, partly random events and much of the information about what went wrong or right is in a black box. Who knows, maybe Brady and Gilmore had the flu last week.

I thought that happened during the game (not before it), after the beatdown had commenced.

The Titans looked flat in all phases and the Colts D was pummeling the offense. I thought it was the scenario typical of the Rex Ryan Jets wins when the team burnt out emotionally against the Pats and gets thumped by a lesser opponent (Colts are decent this year, but not awesome) next game. It is a 16 game regular season, not a single game.

Frankly, I didn't feel bad at all about watching it happen after Dion popped off about the Pats being soft (still like Dion, but enjoyed the comeuppance - 10 carries, 24 yards). The Titans were beaten like a rented mule by the Colts, and Dion wasn't doing much flexing after that loss. I consider his account balanced for his post-game comment after that lesson.

It has been a weird season in which the Pats have beaten the contenders and lost to the pretenders (2008, for example, was the reverse). I would go with "on any given Sunday" as already stated.

Let's see. Titans beat the Pat's by 24 and the Colts beat the Titans by 28. So if we played the Colts they'd beat us by 52. It's simple math:confused:

Somehow that reminds me of the grunt's definition of a helicopter.
