Look at the Sanders movement. You also don't need to make this a federal party since most of the issues are municpal or state. Win local seats and try and make change. Middle class white people are not going to make change if it costs them money, but they will negotiate if they need your backing to get what they want done

Seriously? Long gave a very sincere and appreciative goodbye. That's hardly "not liking" how he was used; as if it were some kind of complaint. Long is a defensive end who's best at shooting the gap (even if his skill set has declined). He's really not the guy who is built to stand up the LT and shed the block in order to control the gap to either side. He knew this when he joined, and both sides knew he was a short-term fill-in. Both sides won. Nothing wrong with him trying to get back to his personal best on another team that suits this skill set.

    Dead serious.

I highly doubt there was a "problem" anywhere of with anyone . Could have been money-related . Not sure

I also thought it was a little odd because he must have known at least something about Ninko's potential retirement and would have seen a substantial increase in playing time if he had stayed.

"This has zero to do with money ... it's the right move in my heart because I want to get back to being the player I was before. I'm thankful for my role this year, but as a competitor, I'm itching to do what I do best."

Pretty straight forward, really. He wants to play in a system that suits his skillset, same way NE wants players that fit their system. Nothing wrong with that.

Also, you can look at his contract at overthecap.com. He signed a one-year, $2.35 million contract with the Patriots. In Philly, he is getting $1.85 for 2017. Then it goes up to $2.35 for 2018....but Philly can cut him and only lose $400k. So, he's really not lying when he says it's not about the money.

Well, its kinda about the money as NE never made Long an offer.

He said he didn't want to be a situational guy..he played 65% of the snaps which were the most in 3 years. Is that really a part timer?

He said he played mostly on the inside and right side here which was different from his traditional left side role and is on record as saying it was not a big deal. So if it's not a big deal?

    He finally said,

On the surface it sounds like he wants to rush off the left side exclusively and not play inside or the right side as he will save his body from additional punishment. A reasonable request but he doesn't want to be a part timer which is the best way to extend a career.

You don't think he and BB could have had a conversation about that?

He has the most productive, healthiest seasoning 3 years but believes playing here will shorten his career?

    I'm not buying it.

I wonder what he would have said if the Pats offered him a $4m 1yr deal?

No worries, folks. I'm back as a mod as of 2:30pm yesterday. The gig at the White House didn't work out.

I'm armed and ready to crush my enemies from my retaken corner office here and at my other website. I even held editorial meetings at both within 2 hours of being escorted out of DC.

On a related note, the NAACP is calling for a total boycott of the NFL unless Kaepernick is signed with a team by Sept. 17.

"Gerald Griggs, the vice president of the NAACP's Atlanta chapter, said this week that his chapter will boycott all things related to the NFL as long as Kaepernick remains unsigned.

"There will be no football in the state of Georgia if Colin Kaepernick is not on a training camp roster and given an opportunity to pursue his career," Griggs told Fox 5 in Atlanta. "This is not a simple request. This is a statement. This is a demand."

Griggs said the NAACP plans to have a rally at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons, on Sept. 17, which is the day the Falcons play their home opener at their new $1.5 billion stadium.

"If Mr. Kaepernick is not allowed to pursue his career, then on September the 17th, at 5 o'clock, we are going to have the world's largest tailgate, and that tailgate will not go into Mercedes-Benz Stadium," Griggs said, according to CBSSports.com. "We will take a knee, and we will continue to take a knee on the NFL until they act with one voice."

Playing in the NFL* is a privilege, not a right.

So many people seem to think otherwise.

Lets just change everything to appease the few.

Everyone should choose their grievance. No exemptions. You are allowed 1 selection per round just like the draft but can make trades. My grievance is that the baseball season is too long and Im offended by that.
