That's true, but he's asking why the mods keep deleting his posts. I'm just letting him know why.
I didn't pose that question in the forum. I also wouldn't ask you specifically for an answer.

Ian is not the only one who has the capability of deleting posts on this forum. On page 1 of this thread, Ashley kindly asked us to keep the topic about Gronk. Bringing up Brady (like you always do) is trolling and you are absolutely doing that.
I know how the message board works. And I stayed on topic... you can't discuss Gronk's career without mentioning the only quarterback he ever had. You also couldn't produce a single quote of mine from this thread that constitutes trolling.

You are diminishing Gronk in almost every post...and based on your history of trolling we know why you are doing it.

This thread is meant to celebrate Gronk's career and his place in Boston/New England history.

You're full of crap. I said Gronk was the second most valuable Patriot behind only Brady (2010-2018). I called him the most dominant all-round TE in NFL history and I said his ring with a second franchise put him in a class by himself among all TEs. However, his durability was an issue and he missed a lot of games due to injury... fact. The Patriots pulled off the greatest comeback in NFL history without him... also a fact. He's still great. Not greater than Jerry Rice, which I guess you think is an insulting comment. Pardon me I was replying to a debate about who was better.

Some of this is reposted since my posts are "disappearing"... I'm literally interacting with another member, replying directly to their questions, and my posts get deleted while some of my responses remain quoted in the other member's replies. Ridiculous! How am I supposed to discuss Gronk and games played with New England without mentioning Brady? It's a Gronk thread and everything I'm saying is Gronk related...

The one target Welker didn't pull in cost them the game. That and an 88-yard game-winning TD drive by Eli against our defense that was really weak in 2011.

They had 28 first downs and 428 total yards of offense.

Agreed but Gronk's absence wasn't the only reason. Brady's #2 in that game was a completely washed Austin Collie. Their defense also wasn't good in 2013.

With a historic 4th quarter comeback against the Legion of Boom. 4 TDs by 4 different receivers in that Super Bowl.

Brady was 14-16 for 123 and 2 TDs in that 4th quarter. The biggest play was probably the 3rd-14 completion to Edelman for 21 yards when he got lit up by Chancellor.

Here's a breakdown of those completions:

Vereen = 5 rec, 2 first downs
Edelman = 4 rec, 2 first downs, 1 TD
Gronk = 2 rec, 2 first downs
LaFell = 2 rec, 1 first down
Amendola = 1 rec, 1 TD

Brady pretty much spread it around and had important completions to 5 different receivers. Gronk is probably the hardest receiver to replicate with another player but in this particular game Edelman had the biggest receptions and ultimately it was an exceptional example of ball distribution by the quarterback.

Not in 2016 when they played as well offensively as they ever had with Brady under center.

Bill still moved on from Brady too early. Bill also tried to trade Gronk when he was still in his prime. Given how the 2016 season went (and finished), it became impossible for the Patriots to move on from Brady at that time. But again, the 2016 season happened without Gronk making a reception after week 9.

Looking back at that draft, Jimmy Graham went a round later than Gronk. Gronk had the better career but he also had Brady his entire career. Graham had some highly productive seasons and his career stats are fairly similar to Gronk's. Had Brady had Graham and Hernandez as opposed to Gronk and Hernandez I think it's possible a lot doesn't change for Brady. Meaning Brady with Graham probably could have stuck around as long as he did in New England. Don't forget either that Brady staying in New England wasn't entirely his decision. The team drafted his supposed replacement in 2014 before his heroics in SB 49 and SB 51 solidified his staying with the team. As it turned out he still left with a lot of elite play left in him.
My response to this got deleted yesterday as well. I thought I was seeing deja vu with this post. No point of responding as it will get deleted again for some odd reason.

I'd like to know from the mods why my response was deleted? Don't see what is wrong with discussing the importance of Gronk in a Gronk thread.

In the Starting Line-Up
Technically the Patriots aren’t from Boston…just sayin’ ;)
No techically they ARE from Boston. They began as the Boston Patriots. It pissed me off when they changed the name.
Btw,the Dallas Cowboys have bever been from Dallas. Giants and Jets are both in NJ.
For most of their history Wash. was in Maryland. Detroit is in Pontiac. etc etc
Foxborough is closer to Boston than all those places are to the cities who bear their names.
Patriots are a Boston team.Period.
But if you're not a native like me,maybe you don't understand the dynamic of Boston pro sports. All of them have always belonged to all of New England.
With minor exceptions of extreme Western Mass near NY border tend to be NY fans, ditto western Vermont and western Conn. But 90%+ of everywhere else are fans of Boston teams. Geographically New England is tiny so it makes sense that they all pull for the same regional team.

I meant the current team. Many ppl outside the region don’t associate the patriots with Boston per se since the team is called the New England Patriots these days

Gillette Stadium is about twice as far away from Boston as Met Life stadium is from NYC. ATT stadium is closer to Dallas than Foxboro is to Boston.

And Gillette is a few miles closer to Providence than it is to Boston…

He was no Ben Coates but had a great career here in New England. Too bad he couldn't stay healthy. Pats would have won the re-match with Eli in that case.

The retirement will only be official when -

1. The NFL processes Gronks retirement papers.
2. Brady chimes in with his blessing on Gronk.

Does anyone lese find it odd that Brady has been silent about this?

I was told by a number of the Brady trolls that Gronk would come back after Brady snaps his fingers...oops.

We have heard this all before from Gronk. Gronk did not rebut his agents comments about returning.

No word from Brady and no retirement papers = 50/50 retirement.
