Well, I'm not the Sandman but my round one Safeties are:

1. Nelson
2. Landry
3. Griffin

Nelson - Meriweather are just about the same style of play..Meriweather having success for more than 1 year and better against run but both hit hard and cover well

Landry is a great player but not playMAKER. hes not faster than BM or RN but hes smarter and most polished safety..he isnt flashy, just gets the job done but can also deliver hits

Griffin had a slightly down year..he hits hard, fast, ST demon but his coverage isnt as good as the other safeties

1. Landry
2. Meriweather
3. Nelson
^Nelson only loses by a few hairs
4. Griffin

I've seen them all. The reasons I place Nelson and Landry at the top are:

Nelson -- Urban Meyer has described him as possibly the best defensive player he's seen in 20 years as a coach. He calls him a great tackler, leader, as a good a playmaker as he's ever been around. And Nelson loves to hit. Says he'd rather hit than do anything.

Landry -- highly productive. A Saban coached player who's LSU defense had similarities to the Pats defense. This fact may give Landry a slight edge in learning our D.

Unfortunately for the Pats however, both may be gone by #24.

I got to give the kid credit. I watched him for the first time last night and I thought he hit as hard as any safety I've seen playing in the NFL right now. He's ferocious and if he can be taught the Patriot way from our coaches and a guy named Rodney I'm all for getting him.

Matter of fact I hope we get him. In time I can see him being a vocal leader on the team he play's for.
