Brady Records Countdowns

And yet we have already forgotten Otto Graham (7 championships) and Brett Starr (5 championships) since they were 70 and 50 years ago respectively.

In another 70 years fans will be saying "yeah Brady won 5 but competition back in 2000s is nowhere as tough as it is now in 2090 as everyone is faster, stronger, taller".

Everyone has recency bias.

Speak for yourself.

Any "Top QB of all time" list that doesn't have

Brady
Montana
Starr
Baugh
Graham
Unitas

as the top 6 (regardless of order) is a list not worth reading. We (worldwide collective, not specific to this thread or board) probably need to change this to

"Top QB of the Super Bowl era".

So Who's The Second Best Quarterback Of All Time ?

Stats ought to be normalized vs. peers at the time, sort of like "wins above replacement" in baseball.

Brady's numbers are going to be so "out there" though, on the winning aspect in particular, that it will be hard to marginalize.

For example, Babe Ruth hit 714 home runs, everyone knows that. The previous record (before him) it was 138.. He took the single season record from 27 to 60. That shows how much he transformed the game.

In football nobody can be that statistically dominant, but hopefully TB12 is at least somewhat like that. He's going to more than double everyone in postseason wins.

If those AFL and NFL championships count for Graham and Starr (when there were 8 and 13 teams in each of their respective leagues), then you might have to credit Brady with 8 championships (5 Super Bowsl, 3 AFC).

Also, I don't think the NFL will be around in 2090.

They won the last game of the season. Not sure you can ask for more or discount their achievement.
