Maybe they could bring in a Mike Lombardi type personnel guy for the draft. Seems it could strengthen what's been an area of weakness (Drafting) lately.
He said that in his early 50s. He didn’t make a promise or commitment.I know he said he will not be coaching in his 70's but will he move GM full time? McDaniels takes over HC and bill moves back to handle GM duties etc.....thoughts?
It wasn’t a blame/credit thing. He didn’t want to work for Parcells, expected he would meddle, and he didn’t have confidence in ownership.I always assumed the reason Belichick left the Jets was because Parcells was staying on as GM. He would have gotten all the blame if the team did not do well and Parcells all the credit if the team did do well. I doubt he'd put McDaniels in that position. Plus, I think he loves coaching and prefers it to the personnel side.
You got bingo, most retire to spend time with family, working let's him spend time with family, I can see him coaching til hes 75 with his kids on staff.People keep bringing up something he said about ten years ago without realizing that having two of his kids on staff essentially revitalized him.
He will be the coach for at least another 5 years if not more.
Bringing in mike Lombardi to make decisions would be like NASA hiring a teenager who is good at science to run the program.Maybe they could bring in a Mike Lombardi type personnel guy for the draft. Seems it could strengthen what's been an area of weakness (Drafting) lately.
70 probably doesn’t seem as old to BB as it did 9 years ago.
I think Bill goes 3-4 more years. Then he will get a role like Team President or Supreme Leader or something like that.
He will remain involved in the team making recommendations to ownership and making himself available to Nick Caserio but he won’t be full time involved in the running of the team.
This. This this this.70 probably doesn’t seem as old to BB as it did 9 years ago.
I don't know how much longer he'll coach, but I firmly believe that when he's out he's totally out. He won't be in some front-office-only role. He'll either be a HC or be completely out of NFL football.I think Bill goes 3-4 more years. Then he will get a role like Team President or Supreme Leader or something like that.
