Ok, believe it or not; Wachuset Blueberry Ale is very interesting in the short run. Maybe a limit of 2 over lunch.
It tastes better than it sounds.

My son and I enjoyed excellent $10 Harpoon IPA at Gillette during the Pat's AFC championship game.
We caught the end of a keg, with some fiber, and another that was clear.
We actually enjoyed the keg bottom better, though were totally excellent!
The tap actually froze and we had to wait while the hot ladies heated it up with their body heat, or maybe it was a hair dryer.
    (My mind plays tricks sometimes.)
The beer offerings at the Super Bowl sucked, as did the game.
Rolling Rock, Miller Lite, etc......though Rolling Rock is ok when there's nothing else available and it's really cold so it freezes the taste buds, like after playing hockey.

I am presently drunk on Kingway.

I am (not) enjoying it in the China Southern airport lounge in Shenzhen. It's the only booze they have.

Ok just tried 2 new, awesome beers. I stopped by a Binny's and picked up a 4-pack of each...... $9.49 each, which is pretty damn steep for 4 beers.

FLYING DOG DOUBLE DOG PALE ALE
    [IMG]
    - 10.5% alcohol
    - extremely hoppy, ridiculous

    FLYING DOG GONZO IMPERIAL PORTER
    [IMG]
    -9.5% alcohol
    -dark and malty and craptastic

Both are awesome and everyone should try them.

I've been in to Saranac lately. I don't care for their I.P.A. but, love these:

I've drunk some good beer in the last couple of months, only to forget just what it was before coming on to post -- consolation for the fact that U.S. domestic flights are ALWAYS late is the presence of excellent brew-pubs in airports. But tonight I had my first (and second) Eritrean beers:

It was pretty good stuff -- very pale and almost no hops (and I imagine there must be some unusual mixture of grains in there). Drunk cold, it went very well with Eritrean food.

    Cambridge Brewing Company Amber Ale.

Any Europeans who still think that American beer is gassy and tasteless should try a pint.

I had about 12 Kingways last night. That is either a magic beer or ver low in alcohol content, b/c today I felt no ill effects.

(Some of the "Western" buffets here include all-you-can-drink beer. Not bad for less $7 per person, even if you are stuck with their crappy selection.)

    Another good one:

Just one pint (16 oz, Gomez!) but really enjoyable.

You're right. I had one the other night just from the bottle (no blueberries in the glass) and it was a nice, light "summer ale". No complaints!

Blueberries? I wonder what Dennis Leary would have to say about that? :p

Sorry. I've no idea what Dennis Leary would say. Who is he? Should I worry?

I guess it may be a little bit of an inside joke if you've never seen his stand up. He does a bit about somone giving him cranberry beer, "Cranberries and beer do not go together! One's for bladder infections, one's for getting DRUNK!" Every time I see cranberry beer or beer with fruit I think of that routine.

OK -- one of those "real men don't ..." things. Thanks.

Hmm ... Red Sox fan who has been accused of ripping off Bill Hicks..

I can see why he has been accused of ripping off Hicks. Bill was funnier, IMO.

Anyway, beer. Miss G and I went to that infamous rock pub in Croydon. I ended up drinking Newcastle Brown, which is a sign that I have stopped caring. :p

Actually, I like it. A half is too small and a (proper) pint can be too much if you want to try a couple of different beers. I must be "going native".

Just one bottle of beer last night, Lindeman's Cassis:

$5.99 for a single bottle and so fruity (blackcurrant juice in a wheat beer) that it's halfway between beer and a ****tail. But delicious and worth every cent.

Not caring is the begining of the end I think. But I'm drunk so I can't say for sure.
