Nice of him to compliment Ivan Fears.

I thought this bit was also interesting...

I also think stories like this one from Chris Mortensen were leaked by the Patriots on purpose to tell Brady that it was time to get his head in the game. What it was, it worked, because the Patriots have been on fire since.

His speculation on Brady's frustration with the organization and the Pats leaking negative info to motivate Brady are clearly signs that Bedard sometimes takes fellow "journalists'" info as close to gospel. IMO, this is Bedard's biggest weakness. That said, he's still one of the best in the business at this time. Sure, he is pretty good, but I think it is more an indictment on the sports media and the fans.

All is well that ends well..

Bedard: Really great matchup against two teams that are very similar. The Patriots have been on a roll and, as opposed to the Packers, they’ve decimated some really good teams. I have a hard time seeing the Patriots losing a game this big, unless Eddie Lacy has a huge day. Patriots 34, Packers 27.

Sam Gash theres a blast from the past.

Sam Gash theres a blast from the past.

Used to love Sam Gash until he and Milloy went on TV and blasted the Patriots and bragged about how much of a family the Bills were. Now I wish nothing but the worst for the guy (ok, not that bad).

I am sure that Belichick would like nothing better than to embarrass Gash today. He would love to hold Eddy Lacy to 10 yards or something like that.

I finally read the article, and I have to admit to finding the entire paragraph this was found in to be off base.

It was one thing to trade Logan Mankins, but not to have a viable plan on top of it? He had a right to be frustrated. Some of the people they had playing on the line (Jordan Devey, Marcus Cannon, Cameron Fleming) had no business being out there. I think after that game, everyone got their act in order. I think the coaches finally realized they had to dumb everything down and get the ball out of Brady’s hands quicker because they just couldn’t block it. I also think stories like this one from Chris Mortensen were leaked by the Patriots on purpose to tell Brady that it was time to get his head in the game. What it was, it worked, because the Patriots have been on fire since.

They didn't have a plan? Things look to have turned out OK, so was it complete luck? Isn't it more likely that NE had a plan and it didn't work, so they adapted? Or perhaps they had a plan and injuries (Stork, Wendell) got in the way a little? I'm also a little befuddled by the names of the OL who "had no business being out there." Cannon is clearly an NFL caliber OT and a passable RG, he just wasn't a viable LG. And everything we've seen from Fleming to date (started and was decent in KC, 6th OL against Indy) indicates that he can play as well.

There is no doubt that things didn't go as hoped to start the season, but Bedard is oversimplifying here to the point of inaccuracy.

Oh, and I have to at the "leak" idea again. What complete horseshit.
