Balls Taken from Officials and Bathroom Break

Both seem to play large in the Wells report.

Considering the Packers/Seahawks game went into OT and I believe the Pats game was delayed........

Has anyone seen a timeline on when these events took place.

I have never really heard a football game being delayed.

Here's the timeline according to the report:
6:25 announced game would be delayed from 6:40 to 6:50
Shortly after some officials leave to give teams 2 minute warning and escort them to the field.
6:30 McNally is seen leaving the Officials Locker Room with the balls. He goes down the hall and enters the bathroom that is near the exit to the field.
6:32 McNally leaves the bathroom.
6:35 The remaining officials go to leave the Officials Locker Room and realize the balls are missing.
6:36 They walk to the field.
6:42 NFL Security Rep heads back to Locker Room to get back-up balls. The officials then spot McNally with the balls at the field.
6:50 Game begins.

Most of this falls somewhere between pages 50-65 of the report.

League approved portable toilets on the sidelines for the ball boys is the only answer. The toilets will be encased in see through glass walls so the whole stadium and country can watch what ball boys do on the toilet.

Makes you wonder if McNally had his eye on the clock...I know if I'm tasked with bringing footballs onto the field by X minutes before the start of a game I'm gonna do it. In all the commotion a Championship game brings, and with the delayed start, I could easily see that as a plausible explanation.

He could have hustled them out of the room to deflate them, sure. I'm just not buying it, not with the psi measurements they have...no way are they risking getting caught over .3-.4 psi (never mind the gauge that showed no deflation).

Folks make a big deal about him not using John in the referees area, but if you are a low paid parttime employee, do you honestly feel like it's your place to use the toilet in the referees private domain?

And that doesn't even get to the as an over 50 guy, sometimes that need comes up quick issue.

As to the " urinal" issue, considering how Wells reportedly massaged the other folks testimony and has taken texts from May and made half the world believe they occurred in January, I have to think it is 'more probable than not' that Mcnally used the term urinal because he took a piss standing up, or said urinal once and toilet at other points in time before or later in testimony, and Wells decided to take that out of context to 'prove' McNally is a liar.

I know it sounds stupid but would a modern stadium record "flushes" or changes in pressure in specific pipes? A form of environmental control system to limit waste or detailed water usage by area within the Stadium. I'm embarrassed to bring it up because it sounds so goofy. Still, we live in a computer age.

This is something that has been glossed over. At 6:25, the game was delayed ten minutes. Just a couple minutes (less than 5 according to the timeline) later, refs start to walk out to do their responsibilities. In relation to the start of the game, they broke their procedures by about ten minutes (understandably due to the delay). Then McNally started toward the field at 6:30 just after referees began their routines. Is he really to blame for breaking procedures since obviously the procedures were being broken or at least changed by some of the referees?

Here's the other thing, letting air out of a ball isn't very quiet. McNally was in a bathroom that refs would be walking by or even possibly waiting to use while making a very distinct "pssst" sound being repeated 12 times. That's quite a risk to take. Also, the Wells report said they proved it can be done in less than 1:40. But McNally does not look like a beacon of health. He looks obese and he's 48 years old. Not exactly spry. Did Wells conduct the experiment with physically fit young men with a time to beat or a 48 year old, obese man, who was just kind of hurrying?

The refs were so concerned that they left the balls unattended 20 minutes. Bottom line is nobody ever cared because nobody should care about psi. Now that there's s federal case everyone is claiming they check the balls down to a tenth of a psi, and handle the balls going to the field like the bank handles moving money to a brinks truck. Shocker, they don't follow exact procedure on meaningless things. Another shocker, when questioned they claim to always follow exact procedure. I'm sure getting fired never crossed their mind.

I'm sure they don't care, and it was not the first time a guy grabbed the balls, and they wouldn't know if anyone tampered anyway because they routinely leave them unsecured.

We're to believe McNally grabbing the balls early was so unusual, that even given the suspicions they chose to do nothing? I call bulls***.

How would he know the door was locked unless there was something I missed? If not just seems like thrown in there for a more guilty look.

True about the single person bathroom I've just never seen where he said he locked the door, so just sounded a little like added for the dramatic effect, Wouldn't surprise me with how other stuff was worded. But I guess it don't matter the haters aren't reading the entire report, their just listening to the blow hards on TV who are only quoting certain portions.
