All if these are not locks. There is always the chance that they will be on IR or be beaten out. However, I believe that this 46 man team is ready to compete for a Super Bowl.

The final seven roster spots can be almost anywhere. However, one seems necessary at OT and at least two in the defensive front seven. I also think that we are short 2-3 ST specialists, but that's just me (and likely Belichick).

So is Lucien an oversight or do you think he isn't in the competition for a roster spot?

oversight and fixed

Thanx, and I like the way you have presented this visually. So often when people do their roster projections, they don't cover those who didn't make the cut.

Of the candidates for the final seven I am rooting for Langi, Moore, and McDermott.

If Brissett has an inconsistent and less than stellar preseason, could he fit on the PS? Which teams would make him their #2 QB?

So, I guess I'll play (since your list lends to guessing): But just let me say this is a WAG after 1preseason game, but what the heck

The list of guys who seem too good to last on the waiver wire kept getting longer.

I don't know how BB is going to make the cuts. Don't like to say it, but some guys need to get HURT ( like a hangnail or something ;) ) and go on IR.

Note: Thuner is a typo: Thuney.

Seem slim at OL,CB and DE but I don't have a strong argument to add a player or two unless as you say an injury happens.

Curious, but I have a somewhat different view. I think that a couple of these might get significant reps because of the situation at DE/LB. But, for me, I am indifferent among these players with regard to Belichick's choices. IMHO, none of these players is a MUST keep. And yes, I do understand the feelings toward Langi. I suspect that he is likely to make the roster.

As I said, I believe that we need backups at OT, TE, a couple of front seven defensive players, and a couple of special teamers, and a backup at strong safety. That would be my guess at the final seven.

I don't have any favorites, and will not be disappointed with almost any choices for the last seven. I suspect that a couple will be off the rosters of other teams.

Good post, I like the way you broke it down and for the most part agree that short of the annual shocker release your top 46 are safe bets. I would probably add a 3rd TE placeholder as a guarantee to that list whether it's Hollister or some as of yet unsigned TE. Obviously there's pretty much zero chance we only go into the season with 2 TEs and I'd wager that we end up carrying 4 probably grabbing someone after one of the cutdown days.

Here are my locks... I have 45 as of now but it can change.

QB (3) T.Brady, J.Brissett, J.Garoppolo
RB/FB (5) M.Gillislee, J.White, R.Burkhead, D.Lewis, J.Develin
WR (6) J.Edelman, C.Hogan, B.Cooks, M.Mitchell, D.Amendola,
TE (2) R.Gronkowski, D.Allen
C (1) D.Andrews
G (3) S.Mason, J.Thuney, T.Karras
T (3) N.Solder, M.Cannon, T.Garcia
DE (3) T.Flowers, D.Rivers, D. Wise
DT (4) M.Brown, A.Branch, L.Guy, V.Valentine
LB(4) D.Hightower, D.Harris, H.Langi, B.King
CB (4) M.Butler, S.Gilmore, E.Rowe, J.Jones
SS (2) P.Chung, N.Ebner
FS (2) D.McCourty, D.Harmon
ST (4) S.Gostkowski, R.Allen, J.Cardona, M. Slater

On the inside looking out...

(5) Hollister - TE, Ealy - DE, Robert - LB C. Flemming - OT, A. Butler - DT

On the outside looking in...

(11) J. O'Shaughnessy - TE, J. Richards - S, A. Carr - WR, D. Lucien - WR, S. McClellin - LB. Van Noy - LB, Freeney - LB, Moore - CB, S. Jones, Grissom - DE/LB, Bolden - RB

At this point no one else is really worth mentioning.

Bridgett won't be on the 46. He will on the 53 but not active on game day absent an injury

I am starting to wonder if Jacoby Brissett is a roster lock.

Premature ejaculation of young draft pick.
He had some decent days in camp. His bad day came in this game as he sailed several completable passes a yard or more over his targets.
It would take consistent suckage to make a garbage FA QB worth the cap hit and roster space to replace him, not that we couldn't easily absorb the cap hit if needed.

Lewis will make the team if he's not traded.

Kinda wonder if BB was showcasing him Thursday night.
