Same idea for RB. Harris is coming up soon and White isn't getting younger and Bolden isn't here to pick up the slack. This is a very underrated need imo along with BU QB.

Who's unique? Cook, Hall, Rachaad White and Pierre Strong. There are others but they stand out.

2nd-3rd RD
James Cook - has basically been recruited since grade school. Big time recruit. Brother of Dalvin. Playing football since diapers. Track background. Arrested for dumb stuff - open container / no license or suspended license I forget.

One of the better rec backs in the draft that can also handle 10-15 carries a game. Displays nice patience, ability to press the line and is a plus zone runner. Runs crisp clean routes, he can take reps outside, slot, backfield. Smart runner that switches up tempo, doesn't fumble (2) and has nice acceleration of his cuts. Doesn't have Dalvin's contact balance or vision especially 2nd/3rd level he's much more one cut and burst. Won't run through real tackles but can break a few arm tackles and definitely make you miss. Ideal rec back that won't advertise plays. Could be killer in two back sets bc of his rec skills. Has to work on scanning field in pass pro too quick at times to find work instead of making sure it's his man.

Mid RD
Zamir White - from NC. Big time recruit one of the biggest in the nation at one point. One of the better HS runners over the last few years ran for almost 15 per clip SR year. Almost 130 rushing TD. Tore ACL SR year. Multiple knee injuries.

Powerful one cut runner with rocked up body. Runs through and over contact. Runs with good patience, awareness and physicality never goes down with one man. Brings it as well as he takes it. Sets examples in film room, weight room, practice and game day great locker room guy that is all about football. Inconsistent in pass pro UG didn't hide him but he didn't look comfortable in every situation. Definitely work to do there. He won't make you miss or necessarily make something out of nothing moves and making guys miss. Varies speed and stride length.

Late RD
Zonovan Knight - grew up in NC big time HS player & recruit with track background.

Inconsistent following his blocks but when he's on he's on. Very good when he follows the plan, runs with conviction and wants to finish.. Tough runner that can run through tackles good contact balance and a acceleration. Can make you miss & has soft hands. Route tree is limited but potential is there for an impact. Can return kicks and doesn't fumble.

Top 75-100

Brian Robinson - grew up a minute from Bama's campus born into the culture there. Had offers from everywhere but obviously went to Alabama.

Big, powerful runner with a chiseled up body. Used to RBBC. Knows his role. Big back with finish mentality. Can move a pile and gash a defense for 25-30 yards even though he doesn't have long speed. Plus ST player and locker room guy. All about football. Doesn't fumble.

Late-udfa

Kyren Williams - from St Louis. Did it all in HS. Rushing, Rec, played Saf had multiple INT.

Tough runner with good vision and awareness. Quick efficient feet that follows his blocks with the best of 'em. Plus rec ability that can work out the slot or backfield on quick routes. One of the better backs in pass pro as you'll see especially for his size. Fearless and great vision scanning the line like a clock. Tested very poorly.

This position doesn't get talked about nearly enough. Harris has a contract coming up and White just missed an entire year and although 30 isn't a death sentence by any means in the NFL it's something you don't ignore either. Bolden is gone. I know what the plan (Mac) is but we obviously love running the ball.

My thoughts are above but see for yourself. He's my RB3.

Dameon Pierce is another RB I'll have a close eye on

The running back from byu is very intriguing. I do not know if he can succeed in our offense, but I like his tape.

I know that a lot of it has to do with the Pats success over the past several years but it ALWAYS seems like Pats pick towards the END OF the First and late in the second……and generally BB or Nike ;) trade down anyways…..which makes it a tough draft to watch!!!! But Go Pats!!!! No more Nkeal Henry’s or Slowquan Williams’!!!!

Don't see anyone worth a 1st besides Hall, Walker if you're starving but both have issues in pass pro so they're not coming in as 3 down backs.

You have a bunch of options in RD 2-3 though. Cook, Pierce, Robinson, Spiller and White could come immediately as 3rd down/Rec backs or backups to Harris/Rham. After that there's a decent amount of rec backs worth a 4th. Borgi, Bodie, Williams and Chandler are all guys who limited but could be very good specifically as rec backs. The guys mentioned earlier are more of a threat on the ground.

Williams is a wildcard. Tested very poorly but he's an absolute stud in pass pro and a very good rec back.

Zamir White is another guy I really like.

I think Cook, Pierce and White are somewhat unique among the class. All three would really complement our group. I thought Michael Carter would be great here last year and he's like the lone bright spot on the jete.

Pretty decent group of options overall

Veteran Starter w/Big Long Term Deal
I love James Cook. He would make this offense elite. Great receiving back who could literally line up wide like a receiver, and he can catch bombs. Is also a good running back when taking hand offs. If the Pats somehow wind up with Williams or Olave in the 1st round, and then Cook in the 2nd or 3rd, this offense could be explosive.

White is probably in his last year, so Cook would be a phenomenal draft pick as a replacement. Also he can be a tandem back with Stevenson if Harris leaves in free agency next year.

Now if we don’t get Cook, Borghi could be a nice consolation prize. If healthy, and that’s a big IF, Borghi is a helluva weapon as well. Excellent receiving back as well.

Kenneth Walker III is the best RB in this draft class. He will earn rookie of the year on offense. He’s that good.

He ran for five TDs behind a mediocre offensive line against Michigan, a defense that was loaded with NFL talent at each of the three layers.

He led the nation for yards after contact.

MSU’s offense line has been so bad in recent years that the year before Walker transferred from Wake Forest, albeit the shortened season, they had ZERO rushing TDs.

Have you heard what his coach Mel Tucker said about him on the Colin Cowinshed (Don’t know the spelling) Podcast?

Let’s just say he won’t be doing donuts in a muscle car on a public road with an infant inside.

Does bb give strong a red shirt year?

Strong is not strong running between the tackles and he does put the ball on the turf more than bb would prefer!

Hopefully, there will be little need for Strong to get many reps as a rookie. I could see him being inactive in every game, unless there is an injury to Harris or Stevenson.

Any one D. Harris, Stevenson, or White being injured would give Strong snaps.

Depends on a couple things...

First can he grasp the blocking and passing schemes. If he can't block, he'll ride the pine the way Harris and Rhamondre did before him.

Is White healthy enough to play?

They'll roster 5-6 RB's but only activate a few on game day, some will have to play special teams which is why Ty Montgomery was specifically brought here, to replace Bolden's contributions on ST's. Can Strong contribute on special teams?

In short, just like every rookie he'll have to earn every snap he gets, on offense or otherwise.
