No. It actually doesn't go against "Supply and Demand". You thinking otherwise says you don't understand the Theory nearly as well as you'd have everyone believe.

A factor that is ALWAYS considered is the quality of product. If the QUALITY is only above average, you're not going to pay LUXURY pricing for it regardless of what the "supply" is.

Care to actually share when this " market value" picture came from?
I looked at FA Centers for each team, there's about 21 but many are jags with a few starting centers hitting FA. Andrews is probably #2 or #3 on that list, so for any team (there are several) looking for a starting Center to protect their QB, Andrews would be considered a quality signing because it's him or a jag. The best one may get tagged (Corey Linsley, GB) making Andrews even more valuable.

I never claimed Andrews was worth LUXURY pricing ($10 - $13M). I simply stated he would get >$7M instead of the $5M others claimed. I posted this before, it's from spotrac.com which shows MV for 5 of these centers from $7.1M to $11.4M

Maybe you're right, maybe Andrews only gets $5M. Who knows. We'll have to wait and see what happens.

Just a note: the Pounceys retired, to, so that affects the market, theoretically, in the direction of a seller's market. Is it enough to counter some of the cap decline? Time will tell the tale.

More than likely 2 guys that Id love to have will cost too much. Allen Robinson is an absolute Beast of a possession WR. If the ball gets near him he is the one coming down with it. Hunter Henry would cure NEs TE woes until we see what Asaisi and Dalton can do on the field if anything.

Thought this was very informative...tells us where each team stands as far as cap space goes......Intereting that so many teams are over as of today. No wonder why we are seeing them starting to restructure some of their players. There are only 4 teams that have 50m in space...

Brees wanting to come back for one more playoff embarrassment?

Naw they’re still way over the cap and they still need to find money to pay their rookie class. It’s amazing how these idiots in the media come up wit these scenarios with wilson to the saints. They think the nfl doesn’t have a salary cap. It wouldn’t shock me if brees came back but is he playing for peanuts?

Yeah, being 62mm over the cap, no wonder why there was talk about them cutting a bunch of players. Brees will have to take a cut in salary.

The Saints are fascinating. They are about to lose potentially a bunch of young talent on defense including Trey Hendrickson, Sheldon Rankins, Alex Anzalone & Marcus Williams. They currently have four starters on defense 32+ including Cameron Jordan, Demario Davis, Janoris & Malcolm Jenkins.

On offense they've already cut their 6th OL & Cook/Hill at TE. They are still 48 million over the cap with these restructures & will probably need to cut more players (Sanders & Brown) to get under the cap.

It's obvious they aren't a superbowl contender & missed their window. The 2017 draft class members (arguably the greatest this century) are no longer on rookie deals. I'm surprised they are going to restructure a lot of players rather than take the hit today. Would you rather be around 8-8 & in cap trouble for years to come or 5-11 & a clean cap slate?

Well we know BB's answer - he went with a clean cap slate.

Idk you have idiots in the media that say the saints have a plan. They’re now 46 over the cap. How can the saints retain one of their players and sign their rookie class. Their window has been closed. They have free agents next year in lattimore and ramczyk.

I'm not so sure they can even really get the space they need purely though cuts; some of these restructures had to happen and freed up more money than other cuts would have. The problem, of course, is pushing the cap hit into future years and perpetuating the cycle they're in.

Kind of makes me appreciate how we managed to structure things so that we were only in cap hell for one year and now we're flush with cash. We like to complain, with good reason, about the position this team is in, but there are so many other teams that were even worse than us last season and have less (or negative) money to spend.

The saints went all in, and will pay the consequences. Many of our fans have supported the approach of going all in trying for the Super Bowl, knowing that the payment would be 2-4 down years.

Does anyone here have any idea how the Saints can possibly get themselves under the cap, and what their team might look like after? I tried reading their forum to see what their fans think of the cap situation and they aren't even talking about it. Mostly just complaining about the Bucs and delusional assumptions that all the players they cut will immediately sign back with them for nothing.
I think they are going to trade a lot of players to both clear space and add late picks to fill out the roster with cheap rookies.

I would always support going for a SB. I would take one Sb and 9 2 win seasons over anything else that doesn’t include a SB.
But you don’t have to destroy the future to go all in. The smart thing to do when in cap he’ll is to eat a bunch of dead money in one year. Because next year you get it all back.
It’s not the “all in” that destroys teams it’s the make decisions made to try to hang on afterward.

I remember hearing that the Eagles don't even have enough players they can cut to get under the cap. They're probably going to be forced to give guys signing bonuses with fake years just to spread out cap hits to even be able to operate this year. This is why I think they signed that Sirianni dude - they know the next couple years will be a disaster and he will be their scapegoat, even though it was obviously due to very poor financing.

We didn't know it at the time but BB went for it in 2019 but at the same time didn't put the team in cap jail for 2+ years like the Saints - only one.

Wanted Gronk to take a pay cut/restructure and Gronk was not helpful.
Tried to sign Humphries. He stays south.
Tried to balance paying Tom but mitigated the downside risk of paying a 42 year old QB and using a lot of future cap space on a team that was not going to contend. Tom got cranky.
Signed Collins. Did ok.
Michael Bennett turned into a baby. Traded.
Got Josh back. Does drugs again. Cut
Signed AB. Goes crazy again. Cut
Drafted a WR w/ 1st rd pick. Trending to a bust.
Got Sanu in a desperate move. Blows out his ankle. Done.

Quite frankly what could go wrong did go wrong in 2019.
