Sure, but remember a few years ago when so many teams HAD TO SPEND to get near the cap or face penalties? Where several teams had $100million?

There's a lot less money out there and more good players this time around.
Absolutely, but money is being created through releases and restructures.

There's no doubt, there will be good value for good players in certain positions where there is a glut.

Idk how many Centers are available though. Is there a glut at that position?

It's not a premium $ position, certainly.

I had him as decent back-up/TC option at center. Steelers might want him back in same capacity..

Bills signed S Micah Hyde to a two-year, $19.25 million contract extension.

Hyde was set to become a free agent after this upcoming season. The eight-year veteran most recently totaled 70 tackles, one interception and five passes defended, grading out as Pro Football Focus' No. 11 safety among 148 qualifiers last year. This deal ensures Buffalo has Jordan Poyer (2022), Tre'Davious White (2025), and Hyde locked up together through the next two seasons.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Panthers are expected to franchise tag OT Taylor Moton.

It ensures Moton returns for roughly $13.6 million in 2021 even if the Panthers are unable to reach a long-term deal with him. Although some would argue against his substantial bump in pay, Moton quietly churned along as Pro Football Focus' No. 14 tackle among 136 qualifiers last year, allowing just three sacks despite being available for 100% of the team's offensive snaps. With Carolina likely shuffling its offensive line and quarterback this offseason, keeping Moton as a cornerstone and anchor in the trenches is clearly a top priority for the rebuilding organization moving forward. He turns 27 in August.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Chargers are "actively shopping" G Trai Turner.

There's a terrific chance he's simply released if the team can't find a suitor. Turner, 27, was acquired from the Panthers in exchange for OT Russell Okung last offseason but mustered only nine appearances with the Chargers (after previously playing 84 games in Carolina) due to a number of significant injuries experienced mid-year. With Kevin Zeitler's and Andrew Norwell's names recently cropping up as additional available options, the market is expected to be flooded with talented offensive linemen seeking fresh starts. Turner is due $11 million in base salary in 2021.

“Voidable years added“ will be a recurrent theme this FA..

I've been talking about that option, lately, as have others. It's an obvious way to do a minor bit of working around this one-two year cap dip. Teams will have to take care not to overuse it, but I expect to see it a bit.

Last time he accepted extension he was offered. This time he obviously did not.
.
???
Has the season started? Just because a contract isn't signed is NOT a reason to believe that he won't sign an extension. Hundreds of extension will be announced in the next couple of weeks.

Not shocking. I don’t think they’re getting watson so will they keep bridgewater?

Teams just have to incentivize their players to make the deal, but if the alternative is getting cut, makes sense. There will be many many such restructures in the next couple weeks. I don’t expect the “massacre” of cut players that some media members are reporting, but probably a fair bit more than usual.

The downside of course is that the teams end up with a lot more dead money in future years than normal. Manageable of course, but curious to see how it impacts the market over time.

The #Raiders will be releasing Richie Incognito because of their salary cap. He is 100% healthy and looks forward to continuing his career there or elsewhere, source said.

Caserio making under the radar solid moves:

That goes against supply and demand. If five teams have a need, but there's only two "talented" players available, those two players market value will go up. Nobody's going to care about rankings when there's competition. You either pay MV for the best "available" or you get someone cheap you didn't want to begin with since the need is still there.

Andrew's market value is estimated at $7.1M by folks that specialize in these matters, not by me. He'll get paid what the market bears.

No. It actually doesn't go against "Supply and Demand". You thinking otherwise says you don't understand the Theory nearly as well as you'd have everyone believe.

A factor that is ALWAYS considered is the quality of product. If the QUALITY is only above average, you're not going to pay LUXURY pricing for it regardless of what the "supply" is.

Care to actually share when this " market value" picture came from?
