They Patriots have 11 picks in this years draft. The 2 comp picks in the 3rd round can't be traded, so they willuse them.

question is: Howmany total pisks will the Patriots make this year?

Where is the "who the hell knows" option ? :)

I voted for 11. We could trade up, down, in and out but we do have a few more roster spots available this year so I expect more of them to be filled by draft choices than usual. Thankfully not too many of them will need to be starters.

Personally, I'm thinking nine or ten. I'm getting the impression TPTB are planning something really big . . . for 2007.

11, after all a trade is use of a pick. :)

I think
3 WR
1 OL
1 TE
2 RB
2 DE/LB
1 DT
1 S/CB

Now, cut that out. :D

Yes, a trade is a use of a pick but not a pick. Of coarse they are going to use all 11. But how many picks are they going to MAKE on Draft Day is the question.

I think they will use 9 picks.

Belichick will trade the 1st-#3 for a 2nd next year if he has enough players left on his board to select later in the round...he can always use another to move back up if needed.

He'll trade a 6 for a 5 next year also.

Could you rephrase the question counselor? :D

prob somewhere from 8-9

i would not be surprised if we traded a couple mid rd picks this yr along with our second rder next yr for an EARLY pick this yr

we will be movers

McBee - Could you explain your reasoning? Thanks.

Just to clarify something, for those who might not know, the two comp picks are in the 6th round.

I had voted 8. But, I'm now thinking that we will actually pick 9-10 guys but maybe not in the same order that we now have.

I don't think that we look to stockpile picks for 07 either, unless a very good deal comes our way. We are going to have enough 07 picks with all of the FA's that we have lost.

I voted nine; I expect seven to make the team.

I say 9 picks this year.....

2-WR
2-LB
2-DE/OLB
1-OL
1-K
1-DB
:rocker:

I took this literally. I think they will use all 11, with the combination of trades and picks, this year. Will they make 11 picks? Probably not.
