Better than sending in the rapist from the UN. We should have stopped the slaughter in Rwanda in the 90's.

That's b.s. There are incidents, of course, as there are in every war. Even American troops have at times been charged with rape and other criminal violence on quite a few occasions. The abusers of Africa were the western powers, primarily Europeans. In general, the UN has helped Africa and is well regarded by the African people. It's almost only white conservatives who object to the UN, probably because the UN directs money and resources to Africa and does more than anyone else to address the exploitation of Africa by western powers. That said, the UN being made up of all the nations, is far from perfect.

It's not about helping people. It's about the larger scope of securing natural resources and "political stability" (aka: governments friendly to US interests). That's why Africa is important to the corporate government. Once again, our best are put in harms way for profits and maintaining the imperial machine. We're no different than 19th century England.

The National Energy Policy Report issued by the Office of Vice President Richard Cheney on May 16, 2001 stated: “West Africa is expected to be one of the fastest-growing sources of oil and gas for the American market. African oil tends to be of high quality and low in sulfur…giving it a growing market share for refining centers on the East Coast of the U.S.”

The following year, the Washington, D.C.-based African Oil Policy Initiative Group conducted a symposium entitled “African Oil: A Priority for U. S. National Security and African Development,” with the participation of American legislators, policy advisers, the private sector and representatives of the State Department and Defense Department, at which Congressman William Jefferson said:

“African oil should be treated as a priority for U.S. national security post 9-11. I think that…post 9-11 it’s occurred to all of us that our traditional sources of oil are not as secure as we thought they were.”

They can also be put to death for any of the following crimes, as well.

    94 - Mutiny or sedition
99 - Misbehavior before the enemy
    100 - Subordinate compelling surrender
101 - Improper use of countersign
    102 - Forcing a safeguard
    104 - Aiding the enemy
    106a - Espionage
110 - Improper hazarding of vessel
    118 - Murder

Be that as it may, did you know that the US military has not executed anyone for anything since 1961?

I do know that. They have that in there to keep everyone in check! I think there should be executions now, that service member who threw an M-67 into a tent killing troops and that other service member who started shooting people in FT. Hood. Did I mention these service member are muslims?

Why would you, unless you're a bigot?

Does it matter that Derrick Miller was black, or Andrew Holmes white? That they presumably were Christian, while their victims most likely were Muslim?
