I've seen Hoge a couple of times over the past two days and I'm a little confused about his statement that the Pats have had trouble with 3-4 defenses.
He notes their losses to the Jets and the Browns, two 3-4 teams, and says that teams "like Pittsburgh" who run a 3-4 can give them problems...
Anyone watch?
Two things stuck out about ol' Rexy: 1) No coach on this show has ever been more aware of the cameras, and 2) He doesn't know many of the new players, often having to ask, "Who's number 48?" or "Who's that guy?"
Plus, he's hilarious. Often when he doesn't mean to be. If you...
Wow. I mean... Wow. JaMarcus Russell makes Ryan Leaf look like a semi-decent choice at QB. Just amazing.
No matter what the cost, Oakland's got to get rid of him. At least don't play him. I know the entire team has problems, but I'm not sure how he could be worse.
Come on. Someone had to.
Isn't it weird how the NFL doesn't have any real dog mascots (I'm not counting the Browns' Dog Pound)? No bulldogs, terriers or salukis. Weird.
You may now flame away. :singing:
Here's mine:
1. Barwin
2. Ayers
3. Matthews
4. Johnson
5. English
6. Sintim
Remember, this is as a 3-4 OLB, not as an overall defender/producer at the pro level.
Be gentle with your KO punches. :stars2:
Here's the most comprehensive list I've seen:
Draft Daddy: Feature Articles
I'd like to add one (RB Devin Moore on a KOR):
YouTube - 98-Yard Fake Reversal Kickoff Return TD
If you find any Pats-prospect videos not listed on the draftdaddy site, please post. Always fun to watch...
Sorry if this has already come up: please merge if so.
Reiss mentions Jayson Foster as a scout-team (Wildcat) wonder.
Patriots work out Foster - Reiss' Pieces - Boston.com
Pro Day notes (scroll to bottom):
KFFL - Jayson Foster, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers
Someone tried to get this going in the "Cuts" thread, but it's different enough to warrant its own thread, I think.
Right now I'm looking at
Green-Ellis
DeVree
Redd
though I don't think Redd will make it through waivers.
Spann is still eligible, right?
Looks sharp, tough and athletic vs. Texas Tech. Announcer quoted as calling Long a "Mike Vrabel type player." Watching him play, I can see it.

If Jets get Laurinaitis, I'd be happy with...
We can overreact; we can worry; we can look at a near loss and panic. We're fans. More than that, we're New England fans, where for years Murphy's Law seemed to rule. Even though this is a new era for local sports, many local sports followers (myself included) have had a tough time adjusting...
Knowing BB's soft spot for the service academies, I wouldn't be surprised to see either of the following in camp (depending on each's military obligation):
Reggie Campbell of Navy:

Chad Hall of Air Force...
A little blurry, but the best view of the seam created around the 30:

Willie and Belichick break down the KOR for a TD. Planning, prep and execution. Enjoy: http://www.patriots.com/search/index.cfm?ac=searchdetail&pid=28559&pcid=41&rss=1
Reiss brought up the possibility in his mailbag: with David Thomas out for the year and Benjamin Watson hurting, how about trying Washington at the H-back position? He blocks well downfield and would be tough to cover coming out of the backfield. much more viable receiving threat than Evans or...
I know this has been discussed before, but I thought the Junior Seau at FB was a half-decent idea (or maybe just a garbage time deal) until this week. Watching Morris cut back for the TD from the 6 on 4th and 1 makes it obvious that he's the best short-yardage back (with Evans in front of him)...
