Guys, stop freaking out.
We cut him because we are keeping 4 ILBs, and we had our 3. It's all up to what you look for in that 4th guy. It could be a very different role (ST wise) from what you look for in the 3rd guy.
If we kept 5 ILBs, Tyrone would have a spot...but we had to keep more...
I'd be all over this!
Maybe BB thinks the ship has sailed, but I thought we were scary for depth at DE and it'd be good to have some continuity and (I thought) talent. Interesting to see where this goes.
Looks like Reiss was right to highlight this as a possibility all along.
It was certainly something to watch through the preseason. I remember some were ripping him for suggesting it.
It did come as a surprise and Tyrone was on his final projection, but all I'm saying was Reiss viewed McKenzie...
Reiss was McKenzie's biggest cheerleader all offseason. Frequently he would say, "Don't count out last year's 3rd round pick, Tyrone McKenzie." Up until Spikes really blew up, Reiss was always in McKenzie's corner. I would not say he's "killing" him at all.
The fact of the matter is with Spikes...
I felt this way but not anymore about Mankins.
Sometimes it's a mistake, but more often than not it isn't. Decisions like this are made with the team in mind. Meaning, it is ALL about getting the team the proper pieces - and getting Brady the proper tools to work with.
Hand Mankins a...
Really? Who else?
Wilhite's been athletically well suited to a slot corner spot, while Wheatley - the only other contender there I guess - has underwhelmed since arriving as a 2nd round pick, and is fighting to stay on the roster.
All I know is our top 4 corners are Bodden, Butler, McCourty, and Wilhite. I think Wilhite is in the slot and McCourty is the top backup on the outside. And that we'll see all four of them a good amount this year, as often as we have to be in the Nickel.
Agree on the 'starter is...
Re: Welker looks like he might play ...
Bill Belicheck used that 'less than zero' chance before too. I think it was talking about trading up in a recent draft.
I think Welker needs to be brought along slowly. He's getting some token exposure in these preseason live action games, which is...
^ Agreed. Moss is too much of a playmaker to be a true decoy. On the other hand, he has always been a decoy to a certain extent, in that we play off of him and Welker. It's a "pick your poison" for defenses.
Re: How did this get five stars before anyone else even looked at it?
I thought it was, and it was covered on Page 1 that the Pats didn't send a letter because they didn't need to, whereas other teams had players under contract and were in a situation where they had to send the letter to...
Appalling...it really takes classless bastards to wish ACL injury on another player, much less dreaming about a *strategy* involving purposely ending another player's season, maybe career...
how can they call themselves fans of this game?
Re: Randy Moss to be on Fox Sports "Stars on Stars" with Stephon Marbury tomorrow nig
Like it or not, Moss is a guy that's going to have tons of question marks. Whether we look at this quote or another, he's far from a sure deal...as pats fans, we can only hope for the best. I'm optimistic...
Re: Anybody else struggling with this Stewart Bradley tidbit?
Dang, that's the first I've heard of Bradley being targeted by the Pats...as a Husker follower, I can tell you he's a good guy. Wish the Pats had gotten him. Kind of puzzling how we...didn't draft people...I sure as heck was confused...
I don't think it's fair to call Vinny a traitor. He was an awesome kicker when we had him, and maybe he's left for another team, so what? Happens all the time...but he's done more than his fair share for us to go down in Pats lore and legend.
Don't deny it guys. You all loved him when he was...
