Re: Send a tweet to peter king about Raven's 4th down call
A different situation because Baltimore was actually trailing in the game at that point - a defensive stop alone wouldn't have been enough - they needed more points to win (unlike the Pats 4th and 2)
Don't see where his back is parallel in any way to the sideline in that screen capture; I'd live to see some kind of advanced triangulation from the different angles if that could be done. My gut is it probably was a first down; but it's so hard to tell even in super slo-mo; can't imagine how...
You just can't tell from that picture because of the angle. That angle is deceptive. It's not clear at all in my opinion. It's way too close for anyone to say this was clear one way or the other
Re: Jets to Vilma: Find a trading partner
Didn't he have microfracture surgery? Big risk I think - that surgery is still an iffy proposition; some guys come back; some never do; even those that do often have 18 months+ of rehab
Meterpareil is that show's designated contrarian. I imagine in his personal life he roots for the Boston teams, but his role on the show is a foil in a lot of ways.
He talks down all the boston sports teams on the show (except BC, which he talks up because the other guys don't care about BC)
The initial post is that we ought to be talking about Mudd stealing signals too..
The clear implication of that statement is "The Colts are breaking the rules too, so what's so bad about the Pats doing it?"
Don't insult everyone's intelligence by pretending its not.
I agree - and if one has no problem with the Pats scoring a royal s-load of points on certain teams (all teams), this is the defense that should be used, not the weird, "Well other teams (Colts) have done it too"
Exactly what I'm talking about.
Both of your sentences above are not true.
"It's okay to do something against the rules because we think the Colts did it in the past (or maybe still do it-who knows?)"
"It's okay to run up the score because the Colts did it in the past"
Regardless of how mismatched teams are (i.e. miami and NE), there's just never going to be an outrageous point spread. I don't think you'll see one over twenty in the NFL.
I think a spread of 16 is basically vegas saying "we think it's going to be a blow out but this is just about our...
I get so sick of accusations of poor sportsmanship at the end of games.
This is the N...F....L, not youth football. You know how to show good sportsmanship at the NFL level? You play hard and clean until the final whistle blows. That's it.
I've seen teams score 21 points in seconds...
It's a feedback loop. Both statements are true. The reverse is also true (losing creating bad chemisty; bad chemistry creating losing) and I think that's why you see teams with a lot of talent sometimes fall off precipitously without much explanation. It can spiral.
A coaching staff needs...
Again, Colts have dealt with/are dealing with large numbers of injuries, just like the Pats. It's way too convenient an excuse and just doesn't stand up if you look at the facts.
That may be true of Harrison, but it's really not true of the Colts as a whole. Everyone thinks about only Harrison and Manning when they say that, but but they've had severe injuries to several other players throughout.
