I'm in Sydney - huge Pats fan.
I can tell you that NFL isn't very popular in Australia. People often disregard it because with our more popular sports (Rugby Union, Rugby League, Australian Rules), the players don't wear helmet and pads (eg the saying is that "Americans are ****ies").
NFL...
I'm Australian.
There is a heap of talent in Australia when it comes to kickers and punters. Whether they be from rugby league, rugby union or Aussie rules football.
Besides punters and kickers, there is a heap of talented athletes who would make good running backs or wide receivers. And...
To anyone who cares, there is another aussie bloke that was earmarked to try out as a punter in the NFL. He is a league player with an enormous boot and great speed, footwork and hands.
Ironically, he'd get more money as a punter in the NFL than what he does as the best player in rugby league...
As an Aussie I should feel upset.
He was an average AFL player...
There are 2 very good aussie punters though.... mcbriar for the cowboys adn rocca for the eagles.
wooo
Culpepper doesn't have a manager and I think that would be an enormous factor as to why he hasn't been very active this off-season.
Simms, I don't know. But he is infinitely better than what we have.
I mean, if I were to use your logic we would have not got 81 either. He had years at Oakland...
The same scrubs that Cassell could do nothing against.
I've never liked Cassell. I don't see the logic in him being considered so highly even though the last time he started a game was like 6 years ago.
I know it has been done to death.
I do believe that it is as simple as that.
His role is to get the ball to catchers. And the metaphor used to describe him in the pocket as a "deer in headlights" couldn't be more true. He just doesn't have it.
Re: Official Cut Players We Want To Sign Post
There is enough vet presence with people like Vrabes, Tedy, Rodney, Lynch etc.
We need ballplayers. ESPECIALLY at Cornerback. Madison has still got it (imo) and would be a good addition.
Excellent career at Minnesota...
Goes to 2 of the worst organised franchises in the NFL and things go bad...
I see where you are coming from. But making a comment like he is "uncoachable" is just ridiculous.
The guy is a proven QB. Maybe if he had a couple of good coaches and good...
The Patriots need someone to bridge the gap between Brady and O'Connell (who I like).
Signing a veteran with starting experience is the way to go. We're not looking for Brady's replacement, we're looking for someone who can come in in the fourth quarter or (god forbid) step in for Brady should...
Both have better skills than Cassell.
Both have more composure than Cassell.
I'm sorry, but I don't buy the Cassell stuff that a lot of people seem to be high on. We're not talking about someone that has shown glimpses of potential or had a great college career. We're talking about someone...
I also believe Gootz will be cut.
He doesn't offer anything that O'Connell doesn't and wasn't much better than Cassell.
In an ideal world, both Gutz and Cassel are cut and Culpepper or Simms come in to backup brady.
