[Edit]HOF Reject/SB-Never-Was Cris Carter's Laughs at Pats Chances

I agree, I miss the days of the dominant secondary like in 2004 when the Patriots won the Super Bowl with lockdown studs like Earthwind Moreland, Randall Gay and Troy Brown.

Tuck calls offensive line of NFC wild card Falcons ‘dirtbag

It may happen from time to time due to the technique but it can't be as pervasive as you are making it sound. The refs would be warned about it and the league office reviews every game thoroughly for missed calls etc. Even if they weren't public about it you can bet that the refs would be told...

Tuck calls offensive line of NFC wild card Falcons ‘dirtbag

Chopblocks are illegal and WILL get called. The old 49ers used to cut on the backside of Inside Zone and seal off a cutback lane, but they would do it while the OL next to them was still working up to the next level. High-Low...effective but now illegal. I'm sure the Falcons cut block on the...

LOL!: What the $#&* is the Redskins Player Doing in this Clip???

I'm wondering if you ever played football? He didn't "quit" or "take a vacation". He did what he was coached to do.

LOL!: What the $#&* is the Redskins Player Doing in this Clip???

I'd be willing to bet that the ST coach taught him that when he heard the poison call to get the hell out of the way, even if you have to run out of bounds. Why continue blocking? If there is a poison call, you don't know where the ball is so you just clear out.

A Broncos fan's perspective on this Sunday's game

:rolleyes2: The Broncos don't run "the option game". They run a bunch of QB run stuff mixed in with play actions and some Zone Read (what all the nitwit announcers are calling the "Read Option". Is there another kind of Option where you don't read? Then it's not an option!) If they start...

Deion Branch and the WR situation.

Kent State isn't / wasn't an Option team, and an Option QB wouldn't be more able to defend Tebow anyway.

LOL!: What the $#&* is the Redskins Player Doing in this Clip???

That's what he's supposed to do. He serves no purpose in that mess. If the ball touches him, it's a live ball. Watch the player nearest the ball, he gets the hell out of Dodge as well. There was likely a "poison" call and the PR team needs to get away from the football to avoid an...

Pats running a lot of base 3-4 -- Solomon Wilcots keeps calling it a "Bear Front"

Some coaches call their Double Eagle front a "Bear Front" for simplicity's sake. However, with two 5 techs Solomon is dead wrong.

Vrabel arrested for Bar Tab Disagreement

Rapists, child molestor, Jets... Calling someone these names is just wrong. Clean it up.

Former Charger Lee dies at 44

David Griggs died at age 28 in a car crash, Rodney Culver died at age 28 in a plane crash, Doug Miller was struck by lightning, Curtis Whitley overdosed, and Chris Mims died of a heart attack.

Brady blamed for Playoff loss to Jets

"Read and React" is a defensive term for a 2 gap defense. I think you meant "Sight Adjustments" or "Sight Adjust".

Something we dont want to see today..

Picks are legal when the defensive players pick each other. They are also called "Rub Routes". It's the best strategy vs Man Coverage. There are methods to combat them. If the other team is too stupid or poorly coached, then that is on them. Every team that throws the ball at every level...

    Mangold chimes in

Wow. I never noticed that Nick Mangold was so BLOND and HAIRY. How about some real football talk? With Woody on I/R, and other Jets OL banged up, they may need some to fill in as the SWING player up front. You know, a BIG ONE that can fill ALL THREE HOLES.

    ESPN:Pats offense demo

Ryan's philosophy is that the QB will have a hard time making throws vs Man while he is on his back. if they are in Man its because they are bringing heat.

    ESPN:Pats offense demo

Play Action affects Zone far more than Man. In Man, you are locked on to a receiver and you count on almost no Secondary support vs the run.

Has Deion Branch turned into a wuss?

He's done that for years. He talked about it before; he said that Charlie Weis taught him to do it to save his body. Prior to that he was even more injury prone than he is now.

MacMullan: It was all about the ego

That's a very simplistic attitude. I don't know what sport you are talking about, but I have coached several players like that in Football. My experience is that players like that drain the coaching staff and wear on the team. Without fail, every one of them (despite superior ability) have...
