    We’re #31!

From ESPN we are #31 out of 32 teams! Carolina, how does our ass taste? This certainly takes the pressure off… https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39770945/nfl-power-rankings-post-free-agency-poll-2024-plus-radar-move

What is a realistic three year plan?

Playoffs in three years seems realistic, using this year as step 1. The bad news is we have serious holes at most offensive positions. The good news is the every roster in the NFL has a 60-70% turnover rate over a 3 year stretch. We also have a chance to start the reset of the roster with...

    KC can ball

Captain obvious checking in, KC continues to impress me. Mahomes is already a lock hall of famer and proved his grit playing and winning with 1/2 leg last year. With Reid and Spags they have two all time greats running the offense and defense and have completed shifted from run and gun to...

    Ok Cardinals, what say ye?

Down to us and them… having the 2nd pick provides a better set of options. We are all fans of Da Bears Fun last couple weeks, Happy Holidays everyone.

Do you want the Patriots to win or lose versus Giants?

    Is winning good or bad?

Who is ready for an 8-2 run and some playoffs?

Not impossible or probable but it would be fun.

    Thank you Bill

Stepping back and looking at the overall body of work and extending a sincere thank you to Bill Belichick and the Krafts. I have not loved every move but over a twenty year stretch we were able the witness the longest sustained run of excellence in NFL history. Sure it is not pretty at the...

    ESPN 2012+ Team Draft ranking

Interesting article https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/33297949 Combine top drafting with the GOAT and best coach ever and you have a recipe for success.

    Remaining free agents?

With the 17 game schedule depth will become more of a factor, also worth looking at available JAGs to fill the end of the roster. https://www.nfl.com/news/top-101-nfl-free-agents-of-2021-who-are-the-best-players-available As of April 22 Patriots have about $15 M of space...

Tell me a story about Marcus Mariota...

Assuming no QB falls to 15 and even if there is one available I think Mariota offers a lower floor and still has upside. His contract is a steal, 3.5 M. Pretty much a steal for pick 46 IMO

    OT

I wouldn’t be upset with an OT. Depth always looks good on paper until a starter goes down, being dominant at OL or DL is never a bad thing.
  14. cstjohn17

    Oddly enamored with Kyle Trask

Looks like a big run at the top, if no one is left at 15 maybe the Pats trade back to the end round 1 and look at Rask. Am I crazy?
  15. cstjohn17

    Moehrig

It is looking like QB is the play with a trade up a strong possibility. Looking across the roster an area with question marks is Safety. At 15 Patriots would have first crack and Moehrig is the highest rated. Thoughts, opinions, emotional reactions...

    Looks like BPA in draft

Good haul in free agency fills most of the wholes, looks like BPA to fill depth and add competition.

DraftTek - Analysis of past drafts

DraftTek lists out the Patriots drafts from 2014, displays the Patriots picks versus their perception of value. https://www.drafttek.com/2021-NFL-Draft-Team-Pages/Patriots-Draft-Page.asp Warning: This is not for the faint of heart, the names alone will make you shudder. I had almost blocked out...

    Deceased Binkie

Vincent Jackson, one of my all time favorite binkies. Brings back memories of a 20 year plan for the Patriots to draft and develop WRs. This was part of my “Big WR” craze.
  19. cstjohn17

    Year of the trade up

This could be a year to trade into the top 3-7 or trade for Watson, QB is so important I would be inclined to overpay (1st 2021, 3rd 2021, 1st 2022, 3rd 2022) about 1050, 1050, 80, 80 = 2360, again a bit of an overpay but worth it they get "their" guy...

    Only a 2nd rounder..,

It is trendy to rag on Jimmy G. But if you look at players as assets, the Patriots had two franchise quarterbacks and their net haul was a 2nd round pick... questionable GM work.
