Who said anything about dynasty? What Pete Carroll and John Schneider have built is a helluva good defense, one that I seriously doubt anybody is going to run on for 200+ yards.
If you think our trend of holding teams below 100 yards of rushing has "a much greater chance of not continuing"...
I respectfully disagree. That Seahawks.net thread is not dissimilar to this thread. Here, there are people "pumping their own tires", talking about what they consider to be Patriot strong points, and how they will defeat/dismantle the Seahawks, "disrespecting" the Seahawks, etc.
There are...
I agree with you, yards allowed is not a good metric for judging a defense (or offense). I have a lot of respect for Football Outsiders' metric systems. So forget numbers, let's just say the Seahawks defense is very good, and possibly among the best.
On the other hand, the same thing applies...
Will you guys chill out just a little bit? You're acting as though the entire Seahawks fanbase is claiming the Pats are going to be rolled over in Seattle, and that isn't the case at all. Some of the more representative examples of what the majority of people are thinking:
Sure, you...
There are obviously many who would disagree with your characterization of that season as a fluke. Nevertheless, if he has 40 catches, a lot would depend on what he did with those catches. But unless he develops a serious attitude problem for the Seahawks, or turns into a talentless bust, he's...
I don't mean to hijack the thread, but there are a few corrections to be made here.
First, Hutch is one of the best interior O-linemen in the entire league, but he wasn't even the best O-lineman on the Seahawks. That honor belongs to Walter Jones. And he (Jones) was paid like it, too, which...
Hey, sorry about the prior smack-talk, guys. I'm not sure what prompted this thread, but not all Seahawk fans follow his... uh... line of reasoning.
You guys have a great coach, who will keep you in the mix for a long time to come. You did suffer some personnel loses this FA period, and...
I don't think that's true. There was obviously some debate about who was better or who would be more suitable for what system, but I don't think that was media driven. If anything it seemed like the media was pumping Smith and then challenging the 49ers to pay him, like somehow drafting Smith...
Hey, if the Seahawks had lost to the Patriots in the Super Bowl, due to being outplayed by the Patriots, I would have nothing but respect for the Patriots (once the emotional sting from the loss wore off. And i'd have respect for the Steelers, too, if their "win" hadn't been so... assisted...
Sorry if this is old news.
Catching a ball in the endzone is a pretty clear and immediate indication that a big play has occured.
FYI: Offensive pass interference:
"Actions that constitute offensive pass interference include but are not limited to:
(a) Blocking downfield by an offensive...
The official explanations are an exercise in @$$-covering. The only explanations that hold any water are about the pylon non-TD and the admission of a bad call on Hasselbeck. A real push-off would have resulted in the DB's torso moving back, not his feet -- that was the result of momentum, as...
Hi guys,
Forgive me for bumping this old thread, but I just found this board. (I looked around and found quite a bit of intelligent football conversation - very refreshing!) And being a Seahawk fan, I had to weigh in on this.
flutie2phelan nailed it (as did several others) with:
But...
