Player Signing Patriots Awarded RB JaMycal Hasty off of Waivers

Picking up someone like this usually wouldn't warrant a thread, but I do like my track guys (10.59 100m as a sophomore in HS), even though he tested poorly and hasn't done much of anything in 3 and a half years. Good or bad, he was teammates with TT for 2 years at Baylor.

    Thoughts on DeVante Parker

I'm a little less optimistic today. We'll see how it goes.

    Football Cleat Technology

I'm not sure if any of y'all have noticed, but world records in Track and Field have been falling left and right due to carbon plate shoe technology for long sprints and distance. These shoes can be silly expensive ($250 for a pair). The recent shockingly shattered Women's WR in the 100m...

Drafting a Pro Bowler is Difficult

tl;dr - Drafting a Pro Bowler is hard, esp in the 2nd round on - Yes, I know Rings are what count in the end and PB's can be a bit of a popularity contest, but's it's an easy thing to measure. - NFL 31% Success of drafting a Pro Bowler in 2nd half of the 1st Rnd (17th to end of 1st Rnd) -...

OT: Ball Carrier - Can the ball touch the ground?

Maybe a basic (and dumb) question, but I can't find the rules for this in the NFL rulebook. If a ball carrier decides to carry the ball "like a loaf of bread" and to touch the ground with the ball with full control, is that considered down? I know that post catch, the ball can hit the ground...

    Man in Motion Plays

As a track nut, one thing I feel that offenses aren't taking full advantage of is the man in motion, since acceleration takes a ton of time. The fastest sprinters in the world would probably take (not including reaction time) 1.9s in full pads/cleats to go straight line from 0-10yds but only...

Successful BB Midseason Offensive Player Acquisitions?

BB's definitely had his successes with getting midseason D help. However, whom would you consider a better than Meh player midseason acquisition (trade/FA) by Belichick on the Offensive side of the ball? Gordon, though briefly electric at times, was frankly a disappointment. DBranch when he...

DK Metcalf and Jeff Demps to run the 100m on Sunday (May 8)

Considering his hamstring injury at the end of the 2020 season, I'm not too optimistic about this. https://olympics.nbcsports.com/2021/05/03/dk-metcalf-100-meters-mt-sac/
