Could be something as simple as in practices they've asked Jimmy to do something and he hasn't corrected it yet. (mental errors) and by punishment they wont let him play until they see improvement.

Im not disagreeing that he was terribly overpayed but he had less help than you think in that game and played well AT TIMES for this team. He was not perfect but he was not the terrible player you think he was.
