Did the pats even do anything illegal?

I know there's already a topic on the allegations against the pats but I wanted to bring something up and I figured it would just get lost in the 100 page thread that already exists. Did the pats really do anything illegal by filming the Bengals sidelines? I don't believe there is a rule in the...

Why do people put so much stock in finals series/super bowl record?

I agree with the part about it being American culture. However, imo that's definitely a part of American culture that shouldn't exist .

Why do people put so much stock in finals series/super bowl record?

Montana was clutch but it has nothing to do with being 4-0 in super bowls. Pick any year he didn't win the super bowl, are you saying he should be viewed as less clutch if he had gotten to the super bowl in that year and lost as opposed to not even making it? To me that sounds backwards.

Why do people put so much stock in finals series/super bowl record?

I agree 100%. It's never been all about ring count for me. A lot of other things go into the discussion, I think Brady has the edge over just about every other QB in almost every other area as well.

Why do people put so much stock in finals series/super bowl record?

Losing any game sucks. I would argue that if the pats had lost to the Titans or Jags, that would have been an even bigger choke job then losing the super bowl. We can't say the pain of a loss in that game is the same as the joy of a win because none of us have ever been in that position. Even if...

Why do people put so much stock in finals series/super bowl record?

Depends. I'm assuming, in this hypothetical scenario, that 3-0 Brady had a career that was equal in length to 4-7 Brady. In this case, I would take 4-7 Brady because he has more rings. The number in the loss column is meaningless to me. 3-0 Brady is only 3-0 when he gets to the super bowl, he's...

Why do people put so much stock in finals series/super bowl record?

This is something I've never understood. Brady just lost in the super bowl for a 3rd time and now people are acting like that is a blight on his resume, which I don't understand. Why is losing in the final round of the playoffs a strike against a players resume? It's as if any year that a player...

For those who are superstitious, Brady's got a lot working against him

Just a funny thought. For Brady to win #6, he's got a lot of curses to overcome. There's the Madden cover curse, the regular season MVP curse (we all know he's likely to win MVP and MVP's haven't faired to well in the super bowl since Kurt Warner in 99). Plus there's also the passing title curse...

    Starting Slow

:D I don't care what the game plan is as long as they come out with a W, I just think if they are down by double digits late it's gonna be tough to come back from that for the 3rd super bowl in a row lol I think this game is gonna take a full 4 quarters of solid play.
  11. R

    Starting Slow

That's what I'm hoping they avoid.

    Starting Slow

I see where you're coming from. I get that it's likely to be a close game regardless. I'm not saying we have to win the first quarter, I just want to see the pats go down big late. Down by more then a TD in the 4th quarter is tough to come back from in the super bowl. I know the pats have done...

    Starting Slow

Well I've been a fan since about 94 or so so I guess it likely wasn't towards me lol But in response to your last sentence, that wasn't my argument. Playing great early and crappy late is almost the same to me as playing crappy early and great late. I wanna see the pats play a full 60 minutes...

    Starting Slow

I guess you could look at it that way but I'd still rather us play a complete 60 minutes lol

    Starting Slow

I'm not sure who you're directing this towards. If you're directing this towards me then you completely missed my point. I could care less how the pats win as long as they win. If they suck for 3 quarters and come back to win on the 4th I'm perfectly fine with that. My point is that it, if...

    Dion Lewis Fumble/NOT a fumble

I think that's what makes it a judgement call. The rule book doesn't establish what constitutes "firm grip and control" so that is up to the referees judgement. I think the refs got it right, I think it was a fumble but I think it was close. It could have gone either way imo.

    Dion Lewis Fumble/NOT a fumble

I think 3/4th's is a little exaggerated but I lean more toward it being a fumble. But I think it was close enough to where I could see them ruling it the other way.

    Dion Lewis Fumble/NOT a fumble

I think it's close. Could go either way. The following quote is taken straight from the 2017 NFL Rulebook: "A player is in possession when he is inbounds and has a firm grip and control of the ball with his hands or arms." With this definition, I think there is a certain level of judgment that...
