The trade for Trent Brown seems to be a bit puzzling with Marcus Cannon coming back, unless there is something we don't know about Cannon's injury. We should have a pretty dominant OL going into the season. I see the starting OL like this:
Wynn - Thuney - Andrews - Mason - Brown
Cannon...
The biggest weakness on this team now is the cornerback position... our starting two right now are Malcolm Butler and Logan Ryan. I have a lot of confidence in Butler, as he did very well in spot duty last season on guys like Emmanuel Sanders and Jermaine Kearse. I think he can be a solid #2...
It doesn't look like our OL is getting any better... I know it is early in the season and will probably give them to week 6 to figure it out. I think Stork is an obvious upgrade at center, but I have to temper my expectations on that move.
Cannon seems like a poor fit for guard, Vollmer has...
IIRC, 2011 the year we signed Andre Carter and Mark Anderson to bookend our line was the shift to more 43 looks and less 34. This trend has continued since we drafted Chandler Jones and Hightower in the 1st round. But this year, more so than others, seems to be a very versatile defense...
Real lack of depth at both positions are we ever gonna take a guy at either position?
Maybe we sign Keller or is moving Harrison to TE an realistic possibility?
Saw this link over on Pats Pulpit: http://www.jsonline.com/sports/packers/rating-the-nfl-draft-prospects-wide-receivers-and-tight-ends-b99258025z1-257423561.html
It seems like they are saying that this draft class at TE is as bad as its been said. The article was pretty harsh on CJF labeling...
Tuitt's draft stock has been among those listed as taking the biggest hit since January. How far do you think this guy falls? Could he fall to the 3rd round?
With the draft being so deep, it would make the most sense to go into the draft with the fewest needs possible so that we can pick the BPA or players that would put us over the top. I would love to add Ryan Shazier to this team, but #29 might be rich when we have bigger needs at OG/OC, SS, DE...
I was talking with someone today about the rankings of teams in the AFC. Basically, what are the power rankings of the AFC so far next year. I used a lot of speculation about the post-draft rosters will look like and "potential" of certain teams. To summarize, I think Chiefs and the Bengals are...
I know Browner had an amazing 2011 season (led the league in passes defended), but does anyone have or know where I can find his coverage stats for 2012 and 2013?
How many times was he targeted? How many completions did he allow? How many yards/TDs did he give up?
Many Seattle fans think...
Saw a thread similar to this on another forum. What players do you think will breakout and become stars in 2014?
For me:
Jamie Collins LB, Pats
Chandler Jones DE, Pats (a la Robert Quinn:rocker:)
Aaron Dobson WR, Pats
Jordan Reed TE, Redskins
Joseph Fauria TE, Lions
Kenny Stills WR...
With the additions of Revis and Browner, I think McCourty is gonna benefit the most. It will allow him to play more of the center fielder role in single high coverage and break on routes. He is bound to have a big time year.
I think we need to lock him up in a longer term contract before the...
With Talib signing with the broncos and most of the "marquee" free agents off the market, what do you think the pats next move/plan for the rest of the offseason is?
I think they should spend wisely this year and improve our future cap situation. Not sure Revis is the answer, but would be...
Saints put the non-exclusive tag on Graham; any team that wants him can offer him a contract that the the Saints would have to match but would result in losing 2 1st round picks to the Saints if the team successfully signs him.
I know it is a long shot and won't happen, but if ever there was...
With reports that Riley Cooper is set to sign a new contract with the Eagles, I believe this will impact the pats FA plans and will set the market for Edelman's deal.
I believe it will set the top end of value for Edelman's contract because:
1. Both have one season of top end production...
Guy on twitter, Incarcerated Bob, reported that Peyton is leaning towards retirement. Not sure how credible it is, but he is also the guy who reported Manning would sign with the Broncos 48 hours before anyone else reported it. He claims the retirement news is coming from the same source who...
Any interest in him if he does get cut by the Cowboys as rumored to happen?
I think he would be a solid #2 if we can't re-sign Edelman and depth if we are able to hang onto JE. He will be cheaper than Maclin Sanders and Nicks too.
I think this kid is gonna be a stud.. I went back and rewatched the AFCCG, even playing on an injured foot, his route running was spot on. Did anyone else see the deep comeback route he put on where he beat a double team and came back for the football. It was crazy that he was that wide open...
