the BIGGEST problem with the Pats passing attack

I think we are expanding Lloyd's game out to a place where it will not go. You can't expect Lloyd to get that far downfield into the intermediate range with that catch the ball as he is going down technique. He is a nice option to have...a neat piece in a rotation of receivers but to me he is no...

Report: Patriots very interested in Revis

Not only is it not likely...there is 0 chance of Revis coming here....thankfully. When he is being interviewed he is all "we are about winning as a team blah blah blah. But the real Revis is the guy that you have to negotiate a contract with and that Revis is all about being the top paid...

Am I the only one who does NOT want Welker back?

The issue appears to be needing some cash to also bring in a true outside/deep threat WR because there is a big drop off in the overall productivity of this offense and this receiver corp when Gronk is not there. Welker does not provide enough juice to fill the top slot in the receiver corp...

    The Chung issue

If the receiver can just elevate to a level above you that you just cannot achieve or can hold you off while he catches the ball just because of his size, there is very little about coaching that will resolve those issues. We need some bigger more physical people ala' Talib and either the Pats...

Am I the only one who does NOT want Welker back?

I still think Brady kicks in bucks by restructuring his deal to keep his security blanket, Welker here. Tom is aging. I don't think he wants to face the next couple of years without seeing Wes over there open about eight yards downfield. True he has to put it right on Wes's numbers but that is a...

    Gronk for Revis?

This is without question true which is in part why people on this board suggest that the Pats criteria for DB's they want to draft is flawed. We sure as heck have a hard time hitting on ones that stick with us and those that we do have seem awfully similar one to the next.

Am I the only one who does NOT want Welker back?

So we are going to blame Branch cause he is past it? Sounds like we should be looking elsewhere since Branch is something of an emergency receiver now. Seems to me, if we want to blame somebody or something for Branch being on the field it should be upstairs where decisions are made. In part...

the BIGGEST problem with the Pats passing attack

Injuries injuries...pretty obvious why some in the NFL want an 18 game regular season but ya' have to wonder how deep on the depth chart teams would have to go in the post season after 18 regular season games.

the BIGGEST problem with the Pats passing attack

I think that Brady is such a student of the game that instead of letting the play develop and taking a shot, stuck in his head is "do not throw the ball late over the middle" and he hesitates. One of the writers wrote about that exact play and claimed that Hernandez and somebody else, Lloyd I...

Edelman is a key, believe it or not

If I had to guess at a comparison between WW and Julian at this stage in their careers assuming healthy seasons, (so far impossible for Julian) I would guess that Julian would have fewer catches than WW but more yards by virtue of having more YAC and by rolling up more total yards. I would guess...

the BIGGEST problem with the Pats passing attack

There are other pass receivers in the league that are dangerous in the way that Gronk is dangerous...none of them do it from the TE position. Just being a deep threat does not get it done. That was Randy Moss later in his career and we know how effective he became once he was truly on the back...

Am I the only one who does NOT want Welker back?

Well I think there is no question that if Talib proved anything it is that we need a big athletic CB in that secondary. Not sure if it should be Talib but they must get that done. Given the dirth of FA options maybe Talib ends up being the guy.

    Is Welker worth $10 million

At his age somebody may make Wes an offer that takes him to 35 years old and if the money is right why would he care after that what system he is playing in up to that age. Guys his size don't play past 34-35 years old...they are lucky to get to 34-35 years old still playing. I do think it will...

    Is Welker worth $10 million

If the question is "will Wes get his money" I would say the answer is yes. To many teams out there that will see Wes as a major draw for their franchise...a piece that they can add to their puzzle that will be worth it in fan support and enthusiasm as much as anything. So you have to say Wes is...

Predictions on who will or won't be back

I agree with all of the these with the possible exceptions of Volmer and Talib. I can see those two guys possibly coming back. If they do not bring back Talib it should be clear as day that the need a Talib-like CB. I think Wes comes back but only if Brady pitches in. As I mentioned earlier...

Am I the only one who does NOT want Welker back?

The only guy the Pats have paid is Brady. Even Brady has gone through restructuring to make room for other guys. Every other player either plays ball with the Pats or goes elsewhere at the point where said player is in the hunt for the big payday in terms of the monster contract of his career...

Bedard Review :In their biggest game, the Patriots failed to measure up

The issue for me is not whether the Ravens were in nickel or not...that is easy enough to see....my issue is that I believe they should have run the ball more than they did. The yards per rush numbers are deceiving in that there were a few plays where the Ravens stuffed the run right at the...

Bedard Review :In their biggest game, the Patriots failed to measure up

I don't agree with much of what was in the piece. I do agree that the Brady to Welker 3rd down missed connection was the play of the game. The entire momentum swung over to the Ravens and they never looked back after that play. I am sure the Ravens did not miss that Welker had peeked at Pollard...

    Is Welker worth $10 million

A great #2 receiver.....this discussion is beginning to remind me of baseball discussions about "elite set up men" relief pitchers....another fallacy. That said Lloyd is not garbage by any means. He is just not capable of being what he was billed as being. The real issue is that the Pats have to...

Stud WR Won't Fix Anything (Remember 2007?)

There is simply no comparing the 2001 Pats to this year's Pats. If anything, this year's Ravens looked more like the 2001 Pats than this years Pats did.
