We'll never know. But if another team topped what the Steelers offered I wonder what Chicago would've done. Fields is a roll of the dice regardless but like you I was intrigued.
I think this is overrated but that's just my opinion. AVP is a former quarterback and Ben McAdoo supposedly knows plenty about the position, most of what goes into acclimating the rookie would be THEIR job. As presumed starter, Brissett will be busy getting a new offense established with all the...
I would like to see them trade out of No. 3 -- grab a franchise left tackle AND wide receiver OR quarterback in the first round, then a quarterback OR wide receiver at top of the second round. They could come out of it with three great contributors and maybe further draft capital for this year...
I know nothing about the Bears' quarterback coaching but Fields' troubles in Chicago mirrored those of Mac, to a degree, re. trying to develop his game amidst OL deficiencies (see below). The knock on Fields is bad post-snap processing but he has what Mac lacks, a strong arm and running ability...
Thanks. It's really something how often I think of and miss the guy. His sudden passing was a wakeup call to be present in the here and now for oneself and others.
He was NFL Coach of the Year in 2021 and led Tennessee to the playoffs in three of his six seasons there, going 54-45. Vrabel is a solid head coach and was my preference to succeed BB. He would've come here with a good staff and hit the ground running, IMO. But Bob Kraft had his binky so here we go.
A couple of these might have involved trades but recently, off the top of my head -- Mason, Thuney, Karras (think how much better off the OL would have been with them still aboard); also Damien Harris, Gilmore, Jakob Johnson, Duron Harmon, Stidham, Brandin Cooks, Elandon Roberts, Akiem Hicks...
Absolutely not.
One thing that always bugged me about BB's roster management was his habit of losing good players too quickly and easily in free agency. Seeing so many guys re-upped this year seemed unusual in that respect, but the roster still remains thin.
After at least two years of serious mismanagement degenerating into an inexcusable 4-13 season, healthy skepticism is understandable considering what we've been told to take on faith. That includes (1) a new head coach making the leap from position coach with only four years experience, none at...
I believe the concern is the Patriots are not equipped to compete and seemingly have no sense of urgency about addressing that for 2024, even if just for appearance's sake.
