I was a big McDaniels hater at the beginning of last season (the Ravens game when Woodhead got 15 carries in particular) but I think he got a lot better as the season went on. Even the Ravens game he had a lot of great play calls the caught the defense over pursuing but were just poorly executed.
Just imagine what kind of stories the media would cash in on with bible thumping jeebotards if Hernandez pulled it off while Tebow is here.
"Tebow helps guide current NFL teammate and former college teammate to salvation and away from his demons!"
At this point Hernandez needs to have a few friends take the fall for it and throw them under the bus. Additionally he'll need to make that fly with the media by claiming he's found god through this experience and that no weapon formed against him shall prosper while quoting the bible as much...
I agree with the sentiment he never really looked like a good fit and had a bad attitude, but the way people on this site are totally dismissive of his production last year totally baffles me. 900 yards is 900 yards, something I'd be thrilled to see Dobson, Jenkins, Jones, or any outside...
If you wanna play that hypothetical game, Randy Moss w/ his head on straight would have had a much more impressive career than T.O. w/ his head on straight.
Re: Patriots will release Brandon Lloyd
Moss was a headcase and he was lazy as hell when it came to some things but he was smart. He had the most freakish ability to detect where deep passes thrown to him were gonna end up. Brady would throw a pass completely off target and Moss would...
Re: Patriots will release Brandon Lloyd
Which is why it's stupid to use Randy Moss as an example for why we shouldn't be concerned other receivers can pick up the offense by week 1.
Re: Patriots will release Brandon Lloyd
Well I'd say it has since the lack of physical outside receivers played a decisive role in their playoff losses to the Jets, Giants and Ravens.
(If that post was sarcasm then forgive me)
Re: Patriots will release Brandon Lloyd
Great argument. It's not like using that stat by itself ignores countless factors, and it's not like Fitzpatrick had a completion rate basically identical to that number (60.6%). You have me sold.
Re: Patriots will release Brandon Lloyd
lol anything being expected of Donald Jones
There's a reason Buffalo fans hated him, he's got stone hands and has no business getting more than emergency snaps at receiver.
Re: Patriots will release Brandon Lloyd
There might not be a strong market for Lloyd but he's the best receiver available who doesn't have a 1st round tender attached to him. Hopefully I'm wrong but I'd be shocked if he doesn't draw any interest.
I think we could see WR addressed midseason like CB was last year. This offseason didn't present any options that added the physical outside threat at receiver w/o destroying cap flexibility. Bowe was the only receiver worth a lucrative long term deal and he never hit the market. Miami got in...
Can't wait to see a bunch of people complain about it being a 1 year deal when it means that Talib will be motivated and not doing stupid stuff off the field. Maybe we lose him a year from now, but they would lost him if they insisted on a 1 year deal.
I think we couldn't ask for a better scenario than Talib signing a one year deal. He'll do everything in his power to have a year w/o drug suspensions, run ins with the law, staying healthy, etc. When a player has had the issues he's had in the past, nothing will keep his behavior in check and...
He's been a liability in coverage since 2009. I'm hoping having a coverage safety next to him will have the effect it did when he was next to Antrel Rolle. He and Rhodes were never a good fit next to each other and it hurt him a lot.
Hopefully this means Patricia is ready to blitz a lot more, because there's no reason to sign Wilson if you don't plan on running a lot of safety blitzes.
I like the signing since he does potentially fill a need, he was always a great leader in Arizona with a good attitude, and I'm guessing...
Agreed about Revis. He'd never get traded here just out of principle.
Fitz is a different story. I think they know they're gonna suck next year so theoretically they'd prefer to absorb all the cap hits from their bad contracts right now. Fitz will be on his last legs (or probably dead) by...
So the subordinate players who listen to their coach get chosen over the players who do what they want and could give a **** what the coach thinks.
I'm sure Belichick is the only coach in the NFL with that train of thought.
Just to add onto to this, we have no idea how well Denard would transition to the slot. If that's what they do, I'd want the CB4 to be a proven slot CB incase Denard doesn't do well as the slot corner.
I'd also argue the slot corner is just as important as outside corners right now. Look at...
