Fellow Pats Fans -
With the long off-season upon us if you're like me you're desperate for quality football viewing. I just finished watching the documentary "Undefeated" on Netflix. It's about a down-and-out losing high school football program in Tennessee and one man's attempt to turn...
I think the only thing the NFL should expand would be to bring back some type of springtime "NFL Farm League" like what they had in the 90s with the World League of American Football. But instead of putting it in Europe they should just have 4-8 cities throughout the US in 2nd tier cities (for...
While the Pats haven't won a SB since Pioli left I think there's a sense that Belichick doesn't need Pioli. Once upon a time people would say the Patriots would always be a contender so long as they had Brady, Belichick and Pioli. I think it's a 2 horse show now... with BB even proving he...
If I recall the Pats took Chung, Darius Butler and Ron Brace in the 2nd round that year. Seabass (Sebastian Volmmer also)

Dear Mr. Belichick -
With only 6 games under our belts it's pretty clear we are yet again in full "well let's just make Tom win the game mode." You made your bones as a defensive coach. Shameful.
Loyal but disappointed fan.
Yes, on 4th and 5 there is a low probability of conversion, I'd speculate much more so than a standard 4th and 1 yard type situation. We'd see more 4th and 5 yard conversion attempts if it was considered a high probability play.
I know there's a lot of current head coaches and former head coaches reading this forum so I'm sure you'll correct me even though I'm simply offering my opinion. I'm an amateur but I tend to agree with those who contend going for it on 4th down was not wise. I would say why not have Brady line...
Pats defense looks to be on it's way to another below average season with another year of Brady wasted. One day he'll be gone and we'll be saddled with another Hugh Millen and we'll look back at all the years we were so close to championships but for a lousy defense.
Hmmmmm... maybe the Pats want Ocho to compete with Branch in camp and they'll keep one of them as the senior guy. Clearly this position needs at least one WR to stretch the field. One would think Ocho still has the physical skills to do this but this past year his mental ability to understand...
I've been semi-flamed in the past for some of my more "outlandish" in-season posts (Pats need to commit to the running game and Pats lack receiving depth despite stud TEs #87 & #81 are some examples) so hopefully this post will be less controversial. This one might sting a little bit but...
Glad to see most readers agree... I posted occasionally throughout the season about my concern for lack of talent and depth and was usually flamed by folks with the usual, "As long as we have Welk, Hernandez and Gronk we're all set"... well that's exactly the point, what about when you don't...
I've thought this all season - how Brady plays admirably despite a lack of conventional talent around him. Not only am I talking about offense (lack of WRs other than Welker) but also the fact that Brady was called upon time and time again to take up the slack for a defense that couldn't shut...
Moderator - Please lock down all these Ocho threads. He was a zero and ultimately despite a ragtag defense it was Brady's lack of receiving options once Gronk got hurt that likely cost us SB46. I get a kick out of all the folks who said with Gronk, Hernandez and Welker we'd be all set. No...
I don't know that BB has many options at this point. McD's results in Denver were ambiguous - some folks say his drafting was good albeit they said it after he was canned. He didn't do much in St. Louis - not sure if that's his fault or if it's a talent problem. I tend to think Brady can make...
Personally I'd want a guy who doesn't disappear and hasn't lost a step. I'm trying to look forward. Personally, I don't want Branch or Ocho back next year. I'd keep Welker as my veteran WR, time for perhaps another Free Agent or a draft pick at WR.
I have a feeling Brady would like to...
No offense taken, I was just reviewing the regular season stats and the WR drop off after Branch was astonishing. To Branch's credit, he had 700 yards receiving which surprised me.
And while I hope this isn't the case, I have concerns that our lack of WR depth could bite us in the ass in...
I don't disagree on having another TE for depth but to think you don't need at least one game breaking WR is a head scratcher to me. I think many would argue that Hernandez is actually more of a WR than a TE anyway. I can see some merit to that argument. You don't notice it not b/c we have a...
Okay, so it's not really any incredible observation but I noticed today Deion Branch had no catches. I think he's been shut out in a couple other games this season and has had quite a few games with anywhere from 1-3 catches and really minimal impact on the offensive game plan. We all know the...
Bill O'Brien will be a sacrificial lamb at Penn State. He really doesn't even have to win, he can suck for 2-3 years. No big name coach will consider taking the PSU job until the situation cools off. Until then, PSU just needs someone to hold the seat and get the program to 2014-2015'ish. If...
