It's crazy how the media is covering the fact that everyone on the field knew that guy was down except for him and the refs. It was completely blown and that's why it's bad for the sport in general that the NFL caved to these part time, half-assed refs.
This season the most glaring weakness has been locating the ball, and I don't think there's much room for argument there. Still, he's playing well overall and I think he just needs to get more comfortable. He has skills, he just needs put it all together.
Also, the pass rush hasn't been very...
I haven't forgotten either. I'm boycotting that fat loudmouth and any station that supports him. He should just join the Herald so I can focus all my hatred into one place.
We can find lots of guys to disappear for large stretches and not make catches in the Super Bowl. I never want to see him in a Patriots uniform for another game.
So, of course he'll make the team.
In theory, having Branch around for insurance is fine. The problem becomes when you have to choose between having him stay and another guy who has potential.
I'm not a Branch fan, but I was ready to keep him around before the playoffs. Seeing his disappearing act in the playoffs reminds me...
Get Lloyd, or another real WR here. Don't bother bringing back Branch or Ocho. We need better LB's too. Maybe even guys that don't jump offside on a critical drive - that would be nice.
The safeties all need to be replaced (except for Chung). They are terrible. The CB's are young and raw...
Huh? Hated Wilfork? Not sure where your getting that.
And yes, I was rooting for Crable to make it, but that was because of my Michigan roots. He didn't work out, sucks, but that's the way it goes.
I'm not sure what either of those have to do with Branch though.
I'm an anti-Branch guy. I hated how he left and enjoyed seeing him humbled. I hated when they resigned him. I think Brady makes him look very good when he's really average at best.
Yes, I'm bitter.
That being said with all the problems we've had getting quality WRs, we absolutely resign...
Not that there should have been any confusion, but the NFL clears it up a bit saying there aren't big changes coming. Any changes need to be approved by the league.
League says Nike deal won’t lead to dramatic jersey design changes | ProFootballTalk
As been posted, Nike can change the material and possibly the fit of the uniform, but they won't be able to change the look or logos. It doesn't work that way.
I'd quote what MassPats38 said, but I don't want to double post that wall of text. Good points, though!
Regarding the screen, I don't think you try to run them against the Ravens. Their LBs are simply too good and too smart for those to be successful that often.
In terms of defense, I think...
Re: Was the Defense all that different yesterday
It was different and here's a few things I can think of off the top of my head.
1.) Stops
The defense made critical stops when it counted.
2.) Line penetration
The DLine (Wilfork especially) played very well.
3.) Actual passes...
One reason why the running game was working was because of the threat of the passing game and the how the Ravens were defending our TE's. If we ran it more, the Ravens would have adjusted accordingly. We were playing a top level defense so it's going to look ugly at times.
That being said...
I have a few friends from UF and they are quick to remind me that Tebow wasn't ever supposed to play in college ball either. The SEC defenses were too fast and strong everyone said.
Some people just win. They are too short and too small to win, but they do anyway. If Denver invests the time...
I've been rooting for this kid to have a real shot since he joined the team, so it's great to see him getting some playing time however it comes. I think he's got a chance at being a really good WR, but is held back (rightly so) with all the playing time going to Welker, Gronk, and Hernandez...
The problem is we have a few select defensive players that are any good. Outside of Wilfork, Mayo, McCourty, and probably Chung, the rest of them wouldn't be playing a lot for almost any other NFL team. The fact that Guyton sees any playing time shows how far the talent level has fallen.
The...
