Here's my perspective in a nutshell: I wanted Brady to move on from the Pats and I wanted the Pats to move on from him. He was pretty much insufferable here last year and it was a given he wouldn't have the tools to succeed if he came back. The Pats were destined to pretty much suck this year...
That's a laugh Kontra, I'm not "salty" about a single one of those things. After all these years I'm surprised you don't know me better and you definitely haven't followed my thoughts on Brady's departure.
It's not incorrect. There's been after-the-fact scuttlebutt and innuendo from those two about friction with BB, disliking life in the Northeast, Gisele being pissed at BB and Kraft, etc. It's not big headline-worthy stuff but has filtered through here and there. You'd expect Brady's parting...
I can't provide any links or specific quotes at the moment. It's just my impression from interviews with those two over the past year that neither has what you'd call a "soft spot" for the Patriots or New England. Which I suppose is understandable, but just the same hard to hear as a Pats fan...
From what I recall Brady wanted to go elsewhere and Gronk retired from the Pats, BB didn't "force" either one out. Nor did I suggest either was "supposed to retire." So, if you were gazing into the mirror while typing that first sentence I tend to agree, although I prefer taking the high road...
I hope for a Saints win and am ready to see "Florida boys" Brady and Gronk ride off into the sunset. These two have no love lost for the Patriots/New England and don't deserve our loyalty. While I always will cherish memories of what they did here, that chapter closed in 2020.
Terrible hire, this guy will be in over his head from day one. I breathed a sigh of relief the Jete didn't snag someone with a proven track record. His being Muslim is completely irrelevant to "PR" and everything else.
The statement was fine and you're reaching to find fault in it to fit your disdainful narrative. There's nothing suggesting "copout," he made clear that his decision wasn't just about him personally but encompassing who and what he represents. Thus, "the decision has been made" weighing those...
Or maybe, just maybe, BB heeded his conscience and acted on principle in the wake of last week's events. Even someone like you who hates the man should leave the door open a crack for that possibility.
