OT: What do you do if you’re the Bears GM at no. 1?

Yeah, like I said - not going to happen, it's just a thought exercise. Just tossing the idea out there wondering what it'd cost if Bill, for some reason, wanted to do it.

OT: What do you do if you’re the Bears GM at no. 1?

I wonder what it'd cost for the Pats to trade up to #1. It cost SF their own #12 plus two future firsts a couple years ago to get to #3. Obviously not going to happen but just thinking through it. Imagine if they traded up for Bryce Young after signing Bill O'Brien, his 'Bama OC.

    BoB officially back

Jules very positive about the move, found his insight interesting. https://patriotswire.usatoday.com/2023/02/05/julian-edelman-confident-patriots-one-reason/

Content Post Words on things I watched, read & heard II

Yeah, this is what I was kind of thinking - Flowers and some of these other guys are really locked to the slot for the most part so #14 makes no sense to me. Later in the first, maybe, but I would be going for someone like Addison in that role before Flowers. I could definitely see the sense...

I like Flowers but people are hyping him as a first rounder now. I dunno. Thoughts?

East-West Shrine Bowl Coaching Roster - Shrine Bowl Updates

Has anyone ever actually seen Evan Rothstein in person? At my old job we made up a person and several of us would pin things on him. We named him Ronaldo. “We have a meeting with Ronaldo in a bit.” “Ronaldo has that one covered for me later.” “Ronaldo booked that conference room.” Ronaldo was...

Pats hire Will Lawing to offensive staff

I'm just hypothesizing. Yeah, that's what I mean. If they let O'Brien bring in a lot of "his guys" then they're at a big risk if he leaves in 2 years and takes them. Unless he never leaves and just takes over, and many of "his guys" move up one level when he does so. But again, that is just a...

Pats hire Will Lawing to offensive staff

Maybe it was worded poorly. I was trying to say it would seem natural if the number of hires continued and ended up being a high total.

Pats hire Will Lawing to offensive staff

Interested in how much of the staff really end up being "O'Brien's guys." If Bill hangs 'em up in 2 years it seems like it would be pretty natural for O'Brien to just take over.

Pats hire Will Lawing to offensive staff

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/02/02/report-patriots-hire-will-lawing-to-offensive-staff/ Lawing worked with Bill O'Brien at Penn State, Houston and Alabama in various offensive roles. Do not yet know what his role in NE will be. He was the TE coach in Houston and an "offensive...

Mayo negotiations + OC interviews next week

There’s a chance he felt that was just a Rooney Rule interview too though. They ultimately hired Frank Reich.

Mac Jones working out with Nic Shimonek on his strength and conditioning

I'm optimistic. Mac is showing the drive already to improve strength which he needs. O'Brien is worlds better than Patricia and is just a good coach. They'll probably return fully to the EP system, which is wise. They have a solid amount of cap space and some ways to create more. They have a...

Mayo negotiations + OC interviews next week

Very strange. I have been thinking about the fact that Bill O'Brien most likely also wanted a chance to be the next guy after Bill here if Bill chooses to retire in the near future and didn't want to be automatically blocked from that before he even started by Mayo. I wonder how things are...

Mac Jones working out with Nic Shimonek on his strength and conditioning

I think he's tough, but also emotional. He took a lot of hits this year and kept trucking outside of the high ankle sprain. While I have occasionally thought about having Garoppolo back this season, I also have to remind myself that Garoppolo would not have lasted through nearly as many hits. He...

Tom Brady says he's done "for good"

    For sure!

Mac Jones working out with Nic Shimonek on his strength and conditioning

Not only that he’s doing it, but that he’s doing it so soon after the season. Training camp is a long time from now. Wonder what he’ll look like when TC comes. He might need to work with Tom House again between now and then if the added strength throws off his mechanics.

Mac Jones working out with Nic Shimonek on his strength and conditioning

Yep, for sure. It’ll be the year we know one way or the other. If he puts it all together, looks good with O’Brien and the offense shows big improvement then he will be “the guy” and probably will get an extension next year. If he doesn’t get it done then he will get traded next off-season. I...
