Idle thoughts - the "we finally won one" edition

You give a rookie QB 2 years to develop. By year 3, you want him to perform as a top 10 QB in the league. If he keeps developing after that, he's top5.

Idle thoughts - the "we finally won one" edition

On Mac, it's funny that fans will have totally different critical reactions. I agree with Ken's overall critique of the gameplan, but I thought Mac held the ball too long when he had open guys short. If he gets the ball to James White quicker a few times, White gains 10+ more yards than he did...

OT: Have the Chiefs lost their swag?

Their offense is actually just Mahomes and Tyreek. No one can really stop this duo. If you put 2 or 3 guys on Tyreek, then wide open spaces on the field are available for receiver #2 and Kelce. Tyreek is a freak and Mahomes is great, but I wonder about Mahomes when he loses Tyreek. If suddenly...

    Mac or Zach?

They’re watching Darnold and seriously thinking that the phrase “it can’t get any worse” was invented solely to tease them.

OT: Epic Troll Job By TB12

Max, you've been saying this for years.

    Josh Uche = Beast

I keep thinking of how many years it's taken for some of our favorite LB/Edge guys to thrive in this defense. What was Bruschi initially? Let's have some patience with Uche.

How Mac Jones Looked in His First Start Compared With Tom Brady

And let's not forget that the Patriots have continuity now on offense, a long history of running their offense in this league. The 2001 Patriots were coming off an offense designed for big armed Drew Bledsoe, and it was still a Ron Erhardt offense. Weis is the guy who designed what we have now...

This is an actual post by the Kansas State running back coach...

It is really hard for me to fathom how a college football coach doesn't know basic rules of football. Throwing the ball over a receivers head intentionally into the sidelines has happened 200,000 times over the years, and never once been called intentional grounding. Why? The QB is not until...

This is an actual post by the Kansas State running back coach...

Coach Foster @CoachFoster_ I watched a QB take a snap back up two steps and throw the ball in the 3rd row of the left sideline 3 straight plays to “waste clock” I’m still unsure how none of them were intentional grounding 12:00 AM · Sep 10, 2021·Twitter for iPhone 1 Quote Tweet 9 Likes

    another late night rant

I had a very long nightmare last night. It was about how Brady leaving the Patriots triggered a series of cataclysms worldwide. The worst of it was a viral pandemic that killed millions, had everyone locked down in their home, kids weren't in school etc., people lost their jobs. Horrible...

    Official 2021 Cutdown Day Thread

Belichick is building a great defense, and a fantastic running game with one of the best OLs in the league. But we have a new stud QB and I can't help but notice the kid is going to war with the kind of receiver crew that the greatest of all time had. I mean--it is really beyond bizarre. For...

    Definitely not an overreaction . . .

Has anyone noticed that Mac moves in the pocket like Brady but throws the ball very much like Peyton Manning?

Game Day Thread Official Preseason Game Day Thread- Pats @ Giants

Yes, we need WRs and have for several years now. That being said, it's insane how Mac Jones's moves in the pocket remind me of a certain former Patriot.

    Hit Piece

Are people misreading Brady's comment about, "It's not, I have all the answers!" as a dig at Belichick? Clearly Brady meant that football is collaborative. And despite his 20 years in the game, he doesn't show up and say I have all the answers.

OT: Fields looked really good in preseason debut

Holy cow, you're hopeless. He passed out of it. He didn't run out of it. Brady has designed roll outs too especially in Tampa. Every QB does. In fact, it's what you want for rookies as it limits their decision making.

OT: Fields looked really good in preseason debut

Sean Clifford, a stiff, runs the ball as much as Fields in college. And he can't run. Thats the college game. I watched Fields stand in there all year taking hits, and yes they run in college when the pocket breaks down. But Fields stands in there a long time. Longer than most. You mentioned...

OT: Fields looked really good in preseason debut

Totally disagree. Stiffs like Sean Clifford run the ball 10x a game in college. It's the nature of the college game. This argument is really sad. A pocket passer is a guy who stays in the pocket as long as he can. The running QBs like Cam have running plays called for them often, or Lamar...
