Jesse chatman RB of the Jets was just suspended for 4 games for violation of the substance abuse policy.

No wonder they couldn't cut him,as reported

I doubt I will get many takers, but maybe Joey Harrington? I know his record is bad, but he has been put in repeated terrible situations. Detroit with revolving coaches, the guy coming in to replace Vick. But that year he took over for Culpepper in Miami, he was solid.

I might prefer Harrington over Simms. Harrington has actually played, and at times, has looked alright.

Willie Anderson.

NOW.

The perfect solution to our RT issues.

Re: Official Cut Players We Want To Sign Post

Sorry, Baskett slipped my mind. I think of him as a second TE.

But Reggie Brown? Come on. He's like a quiet Freddie Mitchell.

HUH????

Brown has been a starting receiver for them for the past 2 years. And he was no schmuck during is first year as well.

Re: PFT: Bengals cut Willie Anderson

If "they" wanted him to take a pay cut, we have to assume "we" would too. I love the option but hard to gauge without knowing what he'll get paid. Not being able to watch much Cinci, is this guy a strict LT or can he possibly translate to RT as well? Nimble or road grader?

Anderson would be an upgrade over Kaczur and Britt. He's been a RT his entire career to my knowledge.

Pats certainly have the cap space for Willie Anderson.
But not Anderson plus a vet CB or QB.
Interesting to see what happens.

Deltha O'Neal and Ahmad Brooks were also cut by the Bengals.. Brooks is very talented, i wonder what's going on over there in Cincinnati

Take a shot with O'Neal.

I think that some of the following are surprises:

Carlos Polk - LB - Cut by the Chargers - Polk was BIG the last two years stepping in for Merriman.

Stuart Schweigert - S - Cut by the Giants - He was good coming out of college.. Then got stuck on a lousy Raiders team before going to the Giants

Troy Williamson - WR- Cut by the Jaguars - Former 1st round pick..

Any WR from Dallas - Dallas lost Hurd and 2 others and then cut 4. Look for them to scour the waiver wire

Roydell Williams - WR - Titans - Not that its saying much, but he was one of their better WRs last year.

Kenton Keith - RB - Was a very good option opposite Joseph Addai last year

Jerome McDougle and Montae Reagor - DL - Cut by the Iggles

DeMario Minter - CB - Cut by Arizona - There was a ton of brouhaha over him when he was drafted...

Vernand Morency - RB - Cut by Green Bay - started last year in a battle for the starting position with Deshawn Wynn. Now both are on the unemployment line.

Why not? The Pats were under by nearly 6 million with 75 people on the roster.. I'd be willing to bet they could easily get both.

I dont know what is out there beside's Ty Law and maybee Deltha O neil that the Pats would have a slight interest in at the cb position.. Oh yeah 1 more Hank Potet..

Not that I want either of them to sign, but Green Bay cut Noah Herron and Vernand Morency, two running backs I'm fond of.

Agree with you on McDougle and Schweigert. How about Darren Stone S from Atlanta. Was praised as one of their best ST player and also was decent on defense.
What are CB Minters's stats and size?

WR Darius Reynaud was released by the Vikings, now that Ventrone made the roster I don't see making a run at him for the PS, but he's a consideration.
ILBs J Leman and Danny Lansanah were released by the Vikings and Packers respectively, I liked both in this draft as run stuffers with decent passing lane instincts who could be developed behind Bruschi.
LB Robert McCune was released by B'more, he'd be another LB to consider for the PS.
DL Keilen Dykes was released by Arizona, but reportedly is expected to be brought back for the PS - I'd like to see him signed to NE's.

This list was just a list of players I was surprised they were released. Not a list of ones I thought the Pats should look at.

Minter is 5'11 and 199 lbs. Ran a 4.52 at his combine 2 years ago. Was a S/CB coming out of college. Before the start of his senior season, he was being touted as a potential first rounder. By the end, he was thought to be a 3rd rounder. Didn't get drafted until the 5th round by the Browns in 2006.

Personally, I didn't like him when I watched him the couple of times in college. I thought he was more of a shoulder tackler and felt he wasn't as good a shutdown player as he was being touted.

My man Darnell Bing was chopped from the Lions - he was listed as a LB, has he gotten real fat?! Bing was a hard-nosed, oversized safety coming out of USC - sounds like a younger version of Rodney or Lynch. I liked him when he came out and when you consider that like the Bengals, the Lion's personnel choices are always wrong, the odds are fair that Bing could be groomed to play the role that Tank Williams was brought in for. How much longer can Lynch and Harrison go? USC safeties are hardly a dime a dozen, this dude will get a job. It may be in Canada, but he will get a job!

Me too, Harrington sucks and is terrible but he is far better than Cassell. At least he has started in the NFL and can take a snap from under center.
