I may be going to Qualcomm...

San Diego is a good place to go see the team. First of all, those people are horrible fans considering they couldn't sell out their own playoff game after a 14-2 season and I got tickets from Ticketmaster two days before that sweet game (after I changed the address of my credit card to a SD zipcode - thats another story). So I don't thinks scoring tickets will be a problem if you get on it first week they go on sale.

Hopefully you are single as the colleges down there tend to produce some good talent and there will be plenty of Pats fans out on Pacific Beach the night before the game. Trust me it will be sweet.

Also, if you go to Tijuana (really a dump I tell you), drink your margys without ice.

Kontra,
Dont listen to this guy^^. He hasnt a clue. Had trouble selling out tickets? Its So. Cal....think about it. And yes, you can have ice in Mexico...that's a myth. I'd steer away from TJ though, it's just a bad scene these days. You're old enough to drink, just stay in SD.

Anyway, you would probably have a better time staying downtown in the Gaslamp District. Lots of restaurants, bars...but bring plenty of cash. The decent hotels are a little pricey and the cheaper ones are REALLY bad. Do your research. Mission Valley has plenty of cheaper, nice hotels and close to the stadium. The only downside is your away from any fun. Fans will be ok with you as long as you dont get drunk and start spouting off. If you do, you get what you asked for. The trolley can take you from downtown, right to the stadium. Just figure out which "line" you need. Otherwise, you will end up near Mexico before the game. If you have other questions, send a pm.

I know it's way early, but I just got tix to this one so we should discuss tailgating options as it gets closer.

And for what it's worth, my experience with Chargers fans is that they tend to fight eachother more than the visiting fans. And I'm not even kidding about that...

I am trying to get tickets together right now not sure if I will be able to pull it off I live in So Cal but since I am up at the SF game the week before I have to be careful of how I spread my monies out... not to mention that I am co-organizer for the Pasadena Patriots group and we plan on doing something for ALL games at the 35er in Pasadena so I have to see. Mannn I want to be down there with the rest of PATS Nation though

SD is a great city. You'll have a blast there. One of if not the nicest cities in the country for my money. If you feel like getting really stupid, do go down to TJ. I was there a few years back and got totally HAMMERED. I'm walking down the street when all of a sudden I see a zebra. WHAT THE FRUCK IS A ZEBRA DOING HERE???, I says. And then I noticed that it was a spray painted donkey. Now that I'm living in China, seeing whores isn't so exotic anymore. But you may enjoy the sights.

Stay classy, Tijuana.

I have been to TJ numerous times. I had my vehicle stolen in Puerto Nuevo because I drove (which I had done several times over a span of 5 years) I was rolled by the Policia the last time I was there TWICE and I took that as a sign that I was DONE with Baja... it's not safe and it is NOT your country it was safe and convenient years ago and I would agree with anyone on here had these incidents not happen to me personally but I refuse to give BAJA my money if they can not do a better job at protecting the tourist.

Don't go to TJ, seriously. As a San Diego native, the last time I went there was when I was 19, and we had to give the corrupt police the slip.

Anyways, I'm new to your guys board, and by the screen name you can tell I'm a Charger fan. I have a number of friends who are Patriot fans, and I find most of them to be pretty cool and very knowledgeable about the sport and their team (unlike Raider fans). I live in Washington state now but I am flying down to the Bolts/Pats game on October 12th. Already have my ticket, from my bro-in-law who has season tickets.

If anyone here needs any advice about San Diego, i.e. where to go, stay, do, or where the single ladies are at, feel free to ask. I will answer some of the questions already posted here also. Like I told Kontradiction on the Chargers board, any Pats fans are welcome to stop by our large Chargers tailgating party and have some carne asada and good-natured razzing. A lot of us are pretty nice, don't let some of these comments mislead you. There are bad seeds and homers at every tailgate/game.

Looking forward to the game though. Great matchup

The game shouldn't be to tough to get into I agree. San Diego is a beautiful city with fantastic whether, and to make note of the OP, the girl "talent" is outstanding. If you are having trouble finding tickets, try this site, I bought 2 tickets to this game a couple weeks ago - seathound.com. All different ticket brokers are there, with all prices compared.

We're going to be buying tickets together shortly so if you want to sit in the Plaza level (just above Field level) with other Pats fans, join Patriots Tailgate to get on the list.

For anyone travelling to San Diego just for the game, the Manchester Grand Hyatt (located near the Downtown Gaslamp) has offered the Patriots Tailgate Club a special rate. You'll need to join the Yahoo Group to get info on how to book this.

What started out as a trip with my 2 kids on Columbus day weekend to my sisters for the Chargers game (and Disneyland :))has morphed into 6. I have a solid contact who hooked my up for the Charger playoff game a few years ago. He has a block of seats in Plaza 54 rows 6 to 9. This section has no lower level in front of it so we are 8 rows from the field in front of the giant scoreboard. Awesome seats ! I found out he sold the seats in front of us to 8 guys from Mass. so we should have a solid Pats representation. If anyone wants to I can relay his information (pm me )if he has any seats left. He is selling for $210 each. I didn't think this was that bad since my seasons are now $169 each. Should be a sick game.

This was a trip I was thinking about, but my Vacation time was given to me 3months too early.

October is a good time to be in SoCal. The Gaslamp or PB are probably the best bets. OB if it hasn't changed in four years is more for hippies and beach bums. My suggestion is to hit up Players Sports Bar on Clairemont Mesa BLVD just east of the 805. The owner is from the Cape and is a huge Boston sports fan.

When I left San Diego, the Chargers couldn't give tickets away, unless you were rooting for the other team. Of course why would they when the City had to buy up all the unsold seats anyways. But it appears, as with anywhere else, things have changed with success.

Hotel Near Qualcomm

Hey everyone!

If anyone is traveling down this way for the game, I work at a hotel (not in hotel circle) but close by. It's only 3 miles from the Stadium. I have got great rates going for those nights and the rooms are larger than most standard rooms. Let me know and I will get you the hook up

Re: Hotel Near Qualcomm

Im interested. I am going to the game and used to live in San Diego(rancho penasquitos) for about 8 years, so directions will be easy to follow. Send me a message

I used to frequent TJ 2-3 times a week as a senior in high school. That was until some bs cop randomly picked me out of a line of people, made up some story and made me give him my money to get out of going to jail. I was scared s hit less. Never went back again

Okay So apparently I cannot PM people. If you are interested in Hotel rooms please send me a PM with you email address and I will send you a reply. I will give you the "home girl" advantage. Sorry Guys I just signed up on this thing and I figured I would help you guys out.

Thanks

If anyone is looking to go to the game..I have two extra tickets - section 9 - row 11.

I heading towards this years game. Anyone know when the tickets are onsale?

I'm going to bump this because I can't start threads yet. I'm going to buy tickets for the Pats-Chargers game and this is my first time being at an NFL game. Does anyone have advise on where I should sit? I'm looking at some behind the endzone on field level but wasn't sure if those would be good or not.

Wow. This thread just won't die. I'm so glad I didn't end up going to that game. :D
