So that mystery lineman, #64, whom Paul, Andy, and I thought looked like Gene Mruczkowski, is indeed the aforementioned former Patriot. He spent last season with Miami, but none of us had any idea that he’d been released by the Dolphins.

He actually wasn't released, but was as an unrestricted free agent who never re-signed with the Dolphins and did not receive a UFA tender prior to June 1.

Ahhh he's back...NOT a large surprise...a good addition inside..(maybe shadow roster...but..NOT bad)

Superbowl time, this cements the championship for sure! :bricks:

Just to be clear--since I had to look it up myself--even if the 'lphins had offered a tender, Mruczkowski would still have had until the start of TCs to sign with another team; if he was still unsigned at this point, his rights would revert to the 'lphins.

Why did we not hear about him earlier.? I wonder how many "unknown" players currently participate in mini camp.

O8 Pats team is like 02 team plus all the goodies. I like our chance at this SB.

For the most part whenever a new face or jersey is present at camp, the local beat writers are pretty good to point it out. Well, except John Thomase because he's too immersed in his meatball subs and footlongs to notice the Pats are even playing football.

Just realized that Gene Mruczkowski is always the first guy I cut on Madden. I guess he stays now.

Yeah, he can't help but notices 5 dollar special offer from Subway sandwich on his way to work. It's the way his sandwich is going to be.

Writers will not miss an opportunity to put Pats down but they don't make any effort to tell the fans who the players are. I don't know what they are doing at mini camp.? They go there for FREE buffet.?

Well, Thomase is getting himself a sack lunch. Actually about 80+ sack lunches.

Un-effin-believable. One of the worst OLmen in the history of the franchise returns. Mruc isn't worth the paper on which his contract is written. A gigantic effin waste. If the FO wants a C for TC, then it should've signed Mike Flanagan or the pride of Agawam MA, Mike Flynn: 2 guys with actual talent and actual success in the league. Effin disgusting. I was hoping for Shane Olivea. Silly me.

Mruczkowski isn't just a center. He's also a guard. He also knows the Pats system. Which can't be said for Flanagan (who I believe is retiring) or Flynn. As for Olivea, he was injured most of last year. Did you ever stop to think that maybe the guy isn't healthy and that's why NO ONE has signed him?

As for you saying he's the worst O-lineman that this franchise has ever seen, you clearly haven't followed this team much since there have been plenty who were worse than Mruczkowski.

Perhaps we should just rename him "yo-yo"
