Re: NYT: Walsh sends tapes to Goodell, NO walkthrough tape, all from 2000 and 2002

iam quite sure kraft lobbied for minimal MNF games because of ESPN, the reason we have only 1 this yr.

MNF is a B-squad game now. Every team is only allowed a limited number of primetime games. Why would they waste a marquee team like the Patriots on multiple MNF appearances?

Re: NYT: Walsh sends tapes to Goodell, NO walkthrough tape, all from 2000 and 2002

I am on the "Let's take 'em all down" bandwagon if this does not get fair treatment. The media HAS to report this, don't they? I mean, the facts are all stated right there. Guys like Mike Greenberg, who are admitted pats' haters, have to even see it. Don't they? I suppose they could point to this part of the article

However, one would also have to point out that the Phins, Chargers, and Steelers Bills, and Browns have had some pretty underwhelming seasons over the years between the start of the taping incidents (2000) and this past September. Also, how many of those teams have had coaching regime changes which would render these films obsolete anyway?

This will be interesting to watch and it would not surprise me to see a Pats love-fest on ESPN between now and the start of the season to help mend fences.
With all due respect as a very new poster, there will be a Pats love-fest on ESPN when the Easter Bunny sings the national anthem at a Pats' opener. Be prepared for more "yellow journalism" and a continued witch hunt from the Empire State Programming Network.

Re: NYT: Walsh sends tapes to Goodell, NO walkthrough tape, all from 2000 and 2002

Let this sink in:

The Pats have already be fined and lost a draft pick for filming defensive coaches calling plays between 2000 and 2007. Walsh's tapes are evidence of what they already admitted doing and were already punished punished for.

Think about it.
If that's the case, why would he start all of this to begin with..? I lose track of which different tapes the NFL was given, I was under the impression he was handing over something new. If this was all for attention, or to get a few bucks for interviews then that's pathetic.

Re: Breaking News : NYT - Matt Walsh & Tapes

Who gets to break the news to BadMoFo that Tomase is about to embark on his new career serving french fries?

Where is FootballFanetic?? Anyone think he'll show up to admit he was wrong?...My money says no.

Re: NYT: Walsh sends tapes to Goodell, NO walkthrough tape, all from 2000 and 2002

No walsh did not work for the pats in 2004.. this was the afc title game with Stewart...
Yeah, you're right. It just seems like eons ago when we faced Stewart, I forgot he was the QB in 2001; I was thinking he only faced us when we had Bledsoe.

Because when he started this he didn't know BB had already copped to taping in previous years, he thought he had proof BB had lied to Goodell.

Re: NYT: Walsh sends tapes to Goodell, NO walkthrough tape, all from 2000 and 2002

Keep in mind that the NFL only clarified its "no taping PERIOD" policy in 2006.

Until then the rule simply said that no taping for the purpose of game day assistance was allowed - or words to that effect.

And by the very nature of the tape (with additional camera angles edited in) makes clear these were not used on the day of the game.

So I'm unclear how the NFL will punish the Patriots for tapings in 2002 that violated a 2007 policy.

ESPN has the story up. It's hazy at best in describing that there is no actual new information. And the people posting comments are just stupid...they are going on and on like BB is going to get suspended and the Lombardi's will be taken back and more fines and draft picks. It's ridiculous and is just going to get worse until Goodell's press conference.

And yes, I doubt Football Fanetic will be on this board ever again.

Good God.

I thought "NO" in the title meant "New Orleans" - I almost lost it.

I don't know what the Times is counting, but the only two occasions when the Pats could have taped the Chargers while Walsh was employed by the team were a win in '01 or a loss in '02 - and at no point in that time have they been 3-1 (they are 2-2 since '01 and 2-1 since '02). I don't know if they played them in the '02 preseason, but even if they did I don't think preseason tape would help much (nor would it make it possible for the Patriots to be 3-1).

I just hope there isnt going to be anymore punishments...I dont see how there could be any but you never no what kinds of **** Roger will pull out of his ass..

Now that these new tapes are 2002 and older, the NFL should do everyone a big favor and explicitly state that taping prior to 2006 was not illegal (if this fact is accurate as stated in JoeSixPat's post). I think it is in Goodell's best interest to squash this "scandal" in the NFL ASAP.

Also it was under another admimistration, the Good ole Taglibue years...

I call it advance scouting, and still do, unless Belichick and Pioli are caught holding a gun to walsh's head and say go tape a super bowl walk thru, then this whole crapgate is over by next tue, Schefter says basically the same thing..

You snatched the words right out of my mouth :D

I sent him a PM telling him that we're looking for him in this thread. :D

In other news, CNNSI and CBS Sportsline have nothing about this up...I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

Re: Breaking News : NYT - Matt Walsh & Tapes

We knew he did not have a tape, because it did not exisit.. But the bigger question where did Tommosse get the info??

dunkin donuts bribed him with free donuts for life if he made up the story about the walk thru before the super bowl.

Ha ha ha ha....way to go Blackglass3. I'm sure he will get back to you with his usual promptness ;)

I am actually looking forward to his return, just because I can't wait to hear how he spins this.

His arguments were as weak as circus lemonade before. I can only imagine what they are now. I love exericising my verbal muscles and abusing that fool. :bricks:

But in all likelyhood he will dissappear from these boards, or at least anything Spygate related. At best, he returns after a looooong time, with some benign posts, hoping we will all have forgotten what he said.

I hope he's busy choking on crow feather. Fanetic, c'mon back with your assumptive horsesh!t and try to put a negative spin on this. Walsh just accidentally exonerated the Pats because, until today, we had to assume (and fight all the idiots suggesting otherwise) that the tapes were not used on gameday. Now we know it to be the case - witness both the dates, and the "raw" footage of the Chargers game - they were NOT used in conjunction with tapes of plays until after the games, because they used advanced video procedures, editing, and multiple camera angles for advanced scouting. Eat a d!ck Fanetic and all the other schmucks who so desperately wanted the Pats to be cheaters because you can't accept that your teams suck and we're good. I repeat, eat a d!ck and choke on crow feathers.

And no, I don't think anyone outside NE will actually understand the ramifications of this, but FAHQ them, those who are too stupid to understand this should be watching Nascar and Wrestling anyway.

Well, I'm going to bed, guys. My wife and I are going to Atlantic City for the day tomorrow. I am going to play some roulette and put $20 on number 19, since that will be the Pats win total next year. :rocker:

Seriously, though, this is such a relief. I don't know how I would have felt about the NFL had BB been suspended or banned from the league. I was seriously considering giving it up had that hapened.
