Belichick didn't address the Superbowl on the "Big Show" today

I agree, this post was ob made by some bonehead kid that was not alive when championships didnt grow on trees in Boston:rolleyes:

I wish.

Hey, if you guys have no interest in knowing things like why the team went for it on 4th and 13 rather than kicking a field goal that could have WON THE SUPERBOWL. Your better fans than myself.

Personally, I would have liked to have heard his thoughts on THE SUPERBOWL rather than give some lame answer about how some anonymous 6th round pick (who most likely won't make the team) is going to "compete" for a roster spot.

The purpose of the interview was to look at the DRAFT, not the Super Bowl.

What good would it do if BB were agonizing over the Super Bowl? He should be looking ahead to next year. More importantly he should be looking ahead to this week when he has a mini camp to plan, rookies to evaluate, and free agent signings to make.

By the way, for the OP, if you had done a little browsing on the NFL videos site you would have watched Belichick's interview about Jerrod Mayo with NFLN done shortly after the pick (which is much more interesting than anything to do with the SB).

In the video, Brian Billick asks Belichick about the Super Bowl. I think you'll enjoy his answer.

Then again, I think you would much rather complain about what the winningest head coach in Patriots' history owes you, than watch a video about the most exciting young LB prospect this team has seen in years.

I wish.

How many times do we have to tell you? There are several examples of Belichick talking about the superbowl. One poster just touched on a video posted on NFL.COM. I have heard him talk about the sb many times.

Productive poeple dont wallow in there mistakes, or spend a bunch of time talking about worthless things in the past. They know they efed up, they learn from it, and they move on. Again, why Beli is one of the best coaches ever, and you are STILL b*itching about the sb on the internet.

What strikes me as odd about the SB is that Belichick committed a lot of mistakes that his former playoff opponents had committed. Schottenheimer going for 4th-and-long instead of kicking, Martz refusing to run the ball in the SB, not to mention that his high-powered offense was shut down just as he had shut down the '90 Bills, the '01 Rams and the '04 Colts.

Now that these have become his own mistakes, hopefully he has learned from them.

They made a point of saying this was his first time back after the Superbowl.

Nowhere did I say they shouldn't talk about the draft. I'm just saying Ordway dropped the ball by not asking the questions we all (including EVERYONE on this board) had about the Superbowl.

See, that's the thing. Not everyone has questions about the SB. I didn't read anything football related for about two months after the SB. I wanted to move on in the worst way, and finally did the day they said Randy Moss re-signed for next year. I think BB feels the same way. What good does it do to talk about it. It was a painful loss where things coulda, shoulda woulda been done differently. Can't change it now. Let's move on.

They did venture to ask BB about an interview with a certain loser which is set to take place on May 13th. They asked him whether he was looking forward to having to hear what this person has to say. There was an uncomfortable silence, then BB said, rather irreverently, "Oh, I can't wait...[Big Show Laughter]...believe me." It was classic BB.

Re: Belichick didn\'t address the Superbowl on the \"Big Show\" today

Geez, cant you friggin people just get along with each other? All are Pats fans. enjoy the frickin ride. I have never seen so much arguing and fighting as I have seen here in this place.

Geez, everyone has an opinion. Try respecting all of them.

I can't help but think if the Pat's had won the Superbowl coach Belichick would have shown up on the "Big Show" months ago and Ordway would have peppered him with a ton of questions about the game.

He's been doing that radio spot for years, including the years of the past 2 Super Bowls. He did not appear post Super Bowl/pre draft in either of those years. This year was no different.

Re: Belichick didn\'t address the Superbowl on the \"Big Show\" today

Quite frankly I can understand why he doesnt want to talk about itl

If I meet up with anyone outside in sports store, the mall, anywhere else, and I happen to have a Pats shirt on and they want to talk about the Super Bowl , well quite frankly I dont want to talk about it either.

Its over, its done, it hurts and I prefer to just let sleeping dogs lie and forget it. We will have our chance to erase the ghosts of SB XLII in SBXLIII.

Until then, I too prefer not to talk about it and I amsure that BB feels even more strongly about it than I do. I am just a fan.

WHo cares.....if I was blind would you also want to scrtach my eyes out??

Belichick has been so good, for so long, something like this was going to happen eventually. Belichick learned from it imo, and I think he has moved on from the loss.

Not a weak answer, just the only answer there is, whats done is gone. Its a brand new season and move on.

Fans who still talk about the game quite frankly annoy me at this point.

Not so much the saddened fans, but the pessimistic “We ******* blew it all – to ******* Eli Manning, we’ll never have that opportunity again! Choke!” who don’t even seem to be excited for next season.

What possible answers would you expect Bill to even give about the SB?

We lost to the better team. We made some plays, they made some plays. They made more plays than we did. It is what it is.

Realize this: Belichick doesn't owe you ****. He brought us 18-1.

You think in 2006 they asked him why we lost to the Broncos in the playoffs?

Well OP should be happy with that. That's probably twice as long as the actual interview would have been.:D

It is a long held Boston/New England trait. If you're a born & bread New Englander, then your family gatherings are as full of debate & argument as the rest of ours.

It is a strange tradition, but true.

You're right Disco. I think some here are angry and what they REALLY want is for Belichik to be embaressed. Like many in our media, they want to see him squirm.

But thankfully, like you, most Patriots fans are just grateful to have him as our coach.

Give it up...the pom pom wavers aren't interseted on BB's thoughts about the Superbowl. Please take you desire to hear objective analysis elsewhere.

I too think it would've been interesting to hear one or two SB related questions; I doubt any true Pat fan would turn off the radio if they were asked. Of course the kool aid brigade is twisting your reasonable question into you somehow being ill informed or "wanting to dwell on the past".

Do you think BB would have crumpled in a heap if the SB was brought up? You talk like BB is an oversensitive 3rd grader instead of an NFL HC.

BB is the best HC in the league by far, no argument there. Its just comical how you guys are worried about hurting his feelings if the dreaded S- word is mentioned.
