Guess we know why Zach went to Dallas

Same stuff Troy has said - there's nothing wrong with loyalty.

Eh, whatever. Can't get upset about that.

yeah i have no problem with Zach Thomas doing that.

i kinda like it.

Do we know how much the Pats offered him?

We would commend Troy Brown for doing the same thing.

Good to see there is some loyalty in sports, no prob here.

i feel fine with his decision, and why he made it

understand it completely

wasnt just about money or winning

I don't have a problem with it either. But one has to wonder, if that was his stance all along......then why did he even visit with the Pats?

Because he probably didn't know if he had options. Obviously, loyalty played a role in swaying him, but it probably wasn't his primary role -- ie if Dallas wasn't in the picture, then he'd take the Pats cuz the Pats were the only winning team; or if the Pats offered twice as much as Dallas.

Respect.
............

If he isn't going to play for the Pats, then at least we don't have to play against him anymore.

I have more respect for the guy !!

Considering all the prominent athletes from the Boston teams who've fled straight to New York (or other division rivals) over the years, and how we as fans have subsequently felt about them, this is obviously nice to hear.

It's good to see an athlete who takes the feelings of fans who have supported him for years into consideration. Call him the anti-Clemens.

PS, I'm guessing that a significant population of this board will be secretly hoping Jason Taylor doesn't feel the same way.

Funny you say that. I was just thinking that all is quiet of the JT front.

Can't say I blame the guy. Gotta respect the man for having a principle and loyalty.

Also, he's from Texas and may have wanted to play in his home state. No big deal.

Different strokes for different folks I guess, but I just cannot understand why someone would feel loyalty to an employer that has let them go.

The idea, for example, that Troy Brown would be viewed as "disloyal" if he signed with another team seems absurd to me. The Patriots cut him!
