I clicked tickets at the pats site, went through Ticketmaster says none available yet...

I was going to go through a travel agent, unless I can save money ordering through Ticketmaster, when will they go on sale? I want to go to the Steeler game and want to do it fast before they sell out.

Reason I wonder is the travel agents going to want like $350 per ticket. So I want to see what ticketmaster has if any cheaper.

It's usually a Saturday in late May -- a few days earlier for the STH waiting list pre-sale.

Those will only be 300-level seats though, and they'll probably sell out within three or four seconds for each game, so you'll have to be very quick. Also, those require you to also buy preseason tickets, and I think there's a 2-per game, 8-per season, per person limit.

You're better off trying TicketMaster or TicketExchange the week of the game. With some luck (also known as checking as frequently as possible), you can usually pick up 100 and 200 level tickets at face value. For a game late last season, I remember somebody getting Row 1 seats behind the visitors' bench. For the Chargers AFC Championship, I got 2 seats in 109, row 9 at face value - around 7:30 AM the Friday before the game on TicketExchange.

Thanks for that information.

Well, it sounds like my best bet is going through the travel agent, since this particular one has also gotten me tickets for other NFL events out of state, it's one of their specialties. She said she was expecting them to become available as soon as this week, and would discuss prices with me then, is the only wait as you described if one were to attempt to get tickets for themselves? I imagine the travel agency or whatever is on some kind of list and has better access than just some guy clicking on Ticketmaster.com.
