Re: ESPN/Reiss/PFT: Moss and Patriots agree on 3-year, $27M deal [mergedx3]

Does this mean we're all not going to die now? I'm delighted we've agreed terms and now thats virtualy out the way we can fully concentrate on other possible signings.

moss message to his fans.

WR Randy Moss posted a message on his website, therealrandymoss.com, to the fans of New England:
"I want to take time out to thank all of the fans for their support and for wishing me well in my return to New England," he wrote. "I'm ready to get back. We have some unfinished business to take care of."

"unfinished business"

:rocker::rocker::rocker:

that just sped up the healing process.

Re: Moss reported to have agreed to $27 Million over 3 years

I'd consider that low-balling him.

I don't think it was Moss' fault it took this long.
Why does it have to be anyone's fault if a contract is signed within two days of the start of Free Agency?

Pats were lowballing him? Geez. You friggin' guys are so impatient, so ready to panick on MARCH THE FRIGGIN' THIRD, it's astounding.

Where's National Sports Advisor??? Some gloating is required. Bit of pointing and laughing wouldn't go amiss either :D

unfinished business = 2 more SB's in the next three years! :woohoo:

Re: moss message to his fans.

Gosh, that guy is a real money-grubbing malcontent. I hope he enjoys playing with TO!!!

But I still have some serious qualms about Moss saying one thing and doing another, saying he only wanted to play for the Pats and then shopping himself elsewhere to raise his price, after saying he wasn't going after top dollar.

If Tom Brady decided to explore the market for a trade to a team that would offer him the most money I'd feel the same way with his departure from character and statements about playing for New England, with winning being more important than money. I'm not one to hold Moss or any player to a lower standard.

Moss will likely have to address how his statements and actions differed when he goes before the media, but in the end I give both sides credit for finding this compromise that works well for both sides, and I'm glad to have him back.

Moss has nothing to explain to me. He lived up to what he had said, which to paraphrase was that he'd like to remain a Pat (true given he signed here), would take less to stay here and not "break the bank" (true on both counts given that a guy like Fitzgerald is in the books for base salaries of something like $32 million total in the next two years, and Terrell Owens made $10M in '04 and will make that again this upcoming season), but also stated he wanted a fair market deal (again true given the going rate of WRs and FA in this offseason). IOW, he lived up to everything he stated.

Lastly, do you think it wise for both Moss and Brady to pay their respective agents a decent chunk of their salaries to NOT do their jobs properly?

Re: moss message to his fans.
