Goodell memo to Spector

Then Specter holds a press conference TODAY where he bloviates that he will not watch the Super Bowl, he will be playing squash instead.

http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2008/02/01/couricandco/entry3779677.shtml

This is out and out business warfare by a corporate owned Senator.

You've hit the nail on the head. With everything that came out in the Goodell presset, Specter actually turns out to have done the Pats a favor in using them as the ammunition in his salvo over corporate warfare.

I would like Arlen Spector to answer to us americans why he thinks it's viable to waste our tax dollars on a non issue that has absolutley nothing to do with his job!

Sigh. Because he doesn't answer to the public. Only to Comcast.

The politicians would like to get involved screwing up sports because

they have no solutions to problems like Medicare, Social Security, the Iraq

War, the economy, inflation, and high gasoline prices.

As I mentioned in the other Arlen Specter is a Tool Of Crapcast thread, he is a living example of yet another reason for term limits.

OTOH, Badell the former Jest employee should never have had the confiscated tapes and notes destroyed. Why not just hide them under lock-and-key? Now people will forever wonder what - exactly - were in them.

Unless one of the major players in this soap opera spills his guts, or examples of other teams' "spying" are revealed, then this issue is not going away any time soon, thanks to our enemies in positions of influence.

I love how Goodell doesn't mention the Rams and Carolina SB's. It's a nice little dig at ol' Magic Bullet Specter.

Just caught one of the guys on NFLN saying that Goodell would be on after the break. Not sure if it's a new interview or a replay of the PC, but he'll be on in just a minute.

Yup, NFL is interviewing Goodell. Will update qith any relevant quotes

I'd like to thank Spector for bring up "spygate". Like I just heard and agree with this benifits the Pats. The motivation to prove they don't need to spy to win will be back.

After watching Goodell's press conference, my first thought was that the he summed it up very well and the media should pretty much drop the subject. Instead, his comments have taken a back seat to innuendos from analysts about Mark Walsh and Arlen Specter. The sad reality is that controversy creates interest, which increases the number of readers, viewers, and listeners, which increases advertising revenue and profits. To insinuate that there is something illegal and immoral going on is much more profitable than dropping what has been a hot topic and reporting on a perfect season.

I noticed that too, could this guy be any more incompetent.

The Pats actually played the Eagles in preseason games in 2002 and 2004 too.

Without getting too political (or at least not party specific): We elect politicians who are too incompetent or cowardly to solve actual problems. Instead, they focus on things that are none of their business. This is what happens when the public doesn't hold these assclowns accountable. If people would stop electing these tools and only put back worthy people in office, we'd be much better off.

Worthy people are to smart to get involved with the government

Exactly, the clowns that run for office are the same people who run for high school positions!
