The Giants is some players have come down with flu-like symptoms. Cornerback Aaron Ross is the latest victim to fall under the weather. Linebacker Antonio Pierce was asked which players were sick, to which he responded with a fake cough and said jokingly, “I don’t know what you mean.”

Coughlin said the team is taking precautionary measure to prevent further players from getting ill and he hoped it wouldn’t be a factor come Sunday.

Anybody know where the thermostat is for the stadium?

Re: Flu Bug Bites Giants

It's there turn to play a playoff game sick. We've already had that fun.

Let's just hope the Pats are taking precautions as well. Lots of Airborne!

Flu hitting Giants

CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) -- The New York Giants arrived for the Super Bowl on Monday, looking like the cast from "Men in Black," and battling the flu.

Rookie starting cornerback Aaron Ross threw up on the plane just before it left Newark-Liberty International Airport, the sixth player to be hit with the bug in the past four days.

Starting fullback Madison Hedge****, backup defensive tackle Manny Wright and rookie safety Michael Johnson all missed practice on Friday after running temperatures.

"I hope that's the end of it," coach Tom Coughlin said after the team arrived at its hotel. "We had three guys missing last week, and some who were not quite as sick. But it didn't drain those players like the three that stayed home" on Friday.

Just thinking about how dibilitating the flu was for the Pats in the AFCC last year, this is just another challenge that the Giants have to play through. This is looking more and more like a 2-3 TD win for the Pats.

Re: Flu hitting Giants

Glad we get out of Media Day before it starts to spread.

Re: Flu hitting Giants

Lucky for the Giants that the flu epidemic hit them 9 days before the game. Enough time to get well and regain strength, imo. I dont think illness will play any role at all, by game time.

Re: Flu hitting Giants

I dunno, some of them look like they are struggling still this week. If they continue to spread it to others on the team, it will still be around for the game.

Or at least effect preparation.

Re: Flu hitting Giants

Good that the Giants have their excuse set up ahead of time.

It kind of reminds me of when I play this one friend of mine in Madden, if I'm winning he'll stop trying somewhere through the 3rd quarter and then follow up my win by saying "whatever, I wasn't really trying."

Whatever, we had the flu.

I heard on WEEI this morning that one of their rookies with the flu barfed all over the place on plane this morning... that's a nice way to make sure all your teammates get that as well... don't think about using the bathroom or a barf bag... then close them in a pressurized tube at 30,000 feet for 5 hours!

That being said, if its the same flu bug that just hit my family its a very short lived one... less than 24 hours of stomach cramps and barfing.
